Age of empires II won't work via windows 10

If you are past the 30 day window to go back to your previous version, the only solution is to reinstall you system back to the way it came when you acquired your computer.  This is what a Microsoft Engineer told me.  Sorry

WAKE UP!!!! Gupta!!  Windows 10 does not I REPEAT, DOES NOT WORK ON WINDOWS 10, PERIOD!!!! Check with your gaming department, and they will tell you Windows 10 does not support AOE II.  It took me a long time to finally find someone at Microsoft that knew the answer. Whats the matter with you people, is it job retention at Microsoft that causes people like you to give users the run around instead of just admitting that AOE II is not compatible with Windows 10 and that Microsoft does not support it any longer.

I'm running into the same issue of getting back into the game, after years of many amazing memories.

It simply will not work with Windows 10 using my CD.  My next trial will be to create a 2nd OS partition on my system with dual boot with Windows 7 or a prior OS.  So, if I want to play old time games such as AOE2, I can with no problems.

My point is that I should not have to buy the game again at any price, I already own the license for the games.

This problem is the same for AOE II, The Conquerors expansion, and Age of Mythology, I have many hours invested in creating custom Maps, Scenarios, & campaigns that are no longer viable, even if I repurchase the games on Steam.

What bothers me the most is that MS won't even acknowledge the issue, there only response is a laundry list of possible fixes that they know will not work.
