    I'm also having the same problem and can't get the validation process to work.  The website says "something happened" and asks you to start the process again.  I contacted Microsoft via the live chat and they kept telling me I need a product key.  The guy just didn't seem to understand that the process requires the validation on the website to generate the product key and that the problem is the website isn't functioning properly.  I suspect it has something to do with the upgrade to windows 10.

    Hi I just bought an hp stream that was supposed to come with office 365 and a $25 Microsoft gift card. I thought that they where supposed to come in card form then I enter a code or something but it didn't come with anything like that eventually I was able to figure out how to get my free one year subscription to office 365 downloaded without any type of code but now I cant figure out how to get the gift card. yes I am sure I'm in a region that accepts it and yes I'm sure the offer isn't expired.
