Groove does not display any Album or Artist Art

How do you get Groove to display Album Art? The App seems to have located my music folders just fine as they all seem to be there but not one piece of Album Art. Windows Media Player on the other hand has reloaded everything just fine.

    I noticed that the album arts are displaying for me now in almost every album. I changed nothing, so I assume they made some updates since my last complaint. I only have a normal folder for all MP3 and FLAC, each file (with its own tags) inside subfolders for the albums, and the album folder containing a folder.jpg file with image. That wasn't enough before, but now it's working for me.

    You could try Google Music as well, now that you can upload your own music and create playlists etc.

    I give up on useless MS apps.  I'll go back to ITunes that seems to have no problems with my MP3/4 library...  Life's to short for me to download another programme and spend god knows how long indexing 2,500 albums....

    By chance I just found two more things that help with artwork display in Groove for FLAC files.

    1. Many of my Tracks had a field called "Description". It had no useful information and had values like "Track 1", "Track 2", Track 3" etc, etc. I've no idea where this came from but suspect it's a field populated by my CD ripper program when the data is available from the online databases it uses. This field wasn't displayed anywhere and it was only because I decided, for an unrelated reason, to view "display extended fields" in MP3Tag that I spotted this field.

    Clearing this field helped more Albums to display artwork.

    1. Many of my Albums don't specify an AlbumArtist. When an Album is by a single artist specifying the AlbumArtist is redundant, and other tools I use (iTunes and Squeezebox and Zune) don't need it. Previously I only specified AlbumArtist when there are Tracks by different Artists. I'm adding AlbumArtist to all Tracks now.

    Supplying AlbumArtist helped more albums to display artwork.

    This doesn't help m4a (AAC) files. I make m4a versions of the same FLAC rips for use on Apple gear and add them into iTunes. Many of them still don't display artwork in Groove.
