I just Installed windows 10 this morning everything runs fine expect for the sound, where is it?

I have tried troubleshooting the problem its says it has fixed it but the little red cross is still is cuddling into the speaker icon. I have tried everything uninstalling and installing the sound again.....does nothing. I even disabled and enabled it......does nothing. I must tell you I am not computer literate and would love for someone to just give me simple instructions and a step by step guide on how to actually fix this problem.

IDT - Audio Device - IDT High Definition Audio CODEC - Error 0x8007001f <<<<<<<<< this is the error that keeps appearing.

Help me Obi windows Kenobi you're my only hope :)

I am having the same problem with microphones not being recognized or working. Upgraded to Win10 on a 64 bit PC. Drilling down into device manager, I see an Event note "Device not migrated" although I have rebooted the computer several times.

The Logitec Camera Fusion USB event states:

Device USB\VID_046D&PID_08C1\6&474bcc&0&6 could not be migrated.

    Last Device Instance Id: USB\VID_046D&PID_08C1\7&293F26B5&0&3

    Class Guid: {36FC9E60-C465-11CF-8056-444553540000}

    Location Path:

    Migration Rank: 0xF00000000000F102

    Present: false

    Status: 0xC0000451

The Realtec PCle GBE Family COntroller has this event:

    Device PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8168&SUBSYS_83A31043&REV_03\4&1ae87ee1&0&00E7 requires further installation.

My computer was working fine before the upgrade from Windows 7. This is a disaster as I cannot use Dragon, let alone Cortana.

I have the same problem, under hd audio controller there is an exclamation point and says device failed to start, its an asus n55sf laptop

    hardware ids are the same:

    PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C20&SUBSYS_1AA31043&REV_05

    PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C20&SUBSYS_1AA31043

    PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C20&CC_040300

    PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C20&CC_0403

"Sound, video and game controllers" is not listed in device manger, is there any fix ?
