Game not working on Windows 10

I installed a game yesterday and had to uninstall it because it would just not work. I tried everything. Frist, it would say I had to be an administrator for it to run, so I ran it as an administrator, but then it just wouldn't start. So, I ran the technical compatibility troubleshoot and tried every setting they recommended and it won't start or open at all. It doesn't even try to start. The run as administrator permission box opens and I click ok and then nothing happens. It still won't work. Any fixes for this? It worked before on windows 7 and then I upgraded to windows 10 and now nothing.

    Running in administrator mode does not work and there is no compatability tab on the properties page for these games.

    The games are listed as compatible but will not run in administrator mode  and there is no compatibility tab on the properties page.  I have lost all my disk based games, some of which I play daily.

    If you cannot fix this soon, can I revert to an earlier version of windows just by uninstalling windows 10? This version is more trouble and less user friendly than its worth, I'm sorry I got it already!

    What is Microsoft doing to resolve this issue?

    To use the compatibility option, you need to right click the gameplay icon and select Troubleshoot Compatibility.

    You "may" be able to revert back to Windows 8.1.  You may have 30 days to do this.  Do a search on the internet for how to do it because it may depend on your PC.  This owner of a Dell laptop did it this way.  I do not know if files and programs will remain the same, but I suspect they will.  See what you can find in a search...

    "The option to downgrade is found when I clicked on the new Start menu, navigate to Settings and chose the Update and Security option. Within that menu, when I clicked on Recovery in the left navigation pane, I was given three options: Reset this PC, Go back to Windows 8.1 and Advanced startup."

    Same here.  tried compatible settings for older games which work well in windows 8.1 but not working in 10.    What happens is my monitor is 27" set up in 1920 x 1080 but games show up 800 x 600 so screen is blown up to the point where you can't even see the exit tab and only way out is to re-boot. So switched back to 8.1.  Oh yes, tried the settings, etc for compatibility but doesn't work.

    I'm glad to see there are others out there with this problem and posting here.  As I said, I'm not holding my breath for them to figure out what's wrong, but it sure would be nice to think they were at least looking into it.  If a game planed on 8.1, why won't it play on 10?
