I installed a game yesterday and had to uninstall it because it would just not work. I tried everything. Frist, it would say I had to be an administrator for it to run, so I ran it as an administrator, but then it just wouldn't start. So, I ran the technical compatibility troubleshoot and tried every setting they recommended and it won't start or open at all. It doesn't even try to start. The run as administrator permission box opens and I click ok and then nothing happens. It still won't work. Any fixes for this? It worked before on windows 7 and then I upgraded to windows 10 and now nothing.

Ran into this awhile back also and been scouring for fixes to no avail. The games I've had issues with are: Baldur's gate (just purchased the CD's about a year ago) & Wizardry 8 (also CD version). I've read that MS added some coding that blocks some games. I'm pretty disappointed with this OS to say the least.
Windows 10 games do not play
My problem last year disappeared when a windows 10 update was installed.
We need to know what game this is. Did you read this thread about the block Windows 10 - and now Windows 7 through an update - has put on certain forms of DRM?
Let us know what the game is, but I suspect this is the problem.
