Game not working on Windows 10

I installed a game yesterday and had to uninstall it because it would just not work. I tried everything. Frist, it would say I had to be an administrator for it to run, so I ran it as an administrator, but then it just wouldn't start. So, I ran the technical compatibility troubleshoot and tried every setting they recommended and it won't start or open at all. It doesn't even try to start. The run as administrator permission box opens and I click ok and then nothing happens. It still won't work. Any fixes for this? It worked before on windows 7 and then I upgraded to windows 10 and now nothing.

    I notice there have been no posts from the Microsoft administrators to this topic.

    They just don't want to see secdrv.sys and other utilities run on W10. Too old and risky according to them !

    I have a converted old PC (W7 => W10) which allows me to install and test all my games. I noticed up to know :

    When a game doesn't even start => protection problem. No solution.

    When the game starts with a black screen, restarting it with XP compatibility mode can solve the problem.

    If the gamers community strongly reacts, then maybe...

    To illustrate this : my old Money 2001 program started with an error : Internet Explorer 5.5 required ! A few days ago, the only solution to make it run was to modify a key in the register database.

    Now, guess what ? Money runs perfectly natively. No need to do that anymore.

    Then I would definitely see if you can't revert back to Windows 8.1.  It's odd that the game at least starts and then hangs up.  That usually indicates a problem with something like a video chip.  But if it played on Windows 8.1, then I have to agree with you - I'd go back.

    I have 3 games that my baby girl loves to play and they open the start credits and then a black or white screen and stay on that screen forever I can not escape go back NOTTA I have to go into task manager to end the games that way.  Sorry I have had a ton of issues with Windows 10 and thinking I might need to scrap the free upgrade and go back to windows 8.1.  I love to look and feel of the OS but hate that you can't use half of your stuff so it is useless to me as it works now.

    downloaded, full games, purchased from Iwin, Big fish. Bought for grandson to play, but he wasn't able to on 10, so switchback to 8.1.

    So far, all of mine have been full games on CD or DVD too.  Examples of ones that played on Windows 8, will install on Windows 10, but will not launch are A Vampyre Story, American McGee's Alice, Syberia I and Syberia II and Vampire The Masquerade, Bloodlines.
