Microsoft Flight Simulator X and Windows 10

I installed Windows 10 and the only program that does not work correctly is Microsoft Flight Simulator 10.  I was told by Microsoft that my Intel 4400 graphics card is the problem and by Intel that they do not have a Windows 10 driver for the Intel 4400.  What are the least expensive graphic cards that will run Microsoft Flight Simulator X on Windows 10?

Look at my post from August 13, 2015 and give my case number to Microsoft. They can scan your computer and fix your problem.

    Hi Ron,

If your error message indicates that you need administrator rights to run FSX, then you could try the following:

    a.   At your FSX icon (or go to the fsx.exe file in the directory), right click on it and start FSX as adminstrator.  See how you go with this.  If you don’t get any further problems in running the Sim, then you could then do this:

    b.   Go to the fsx.exe file in the directory, right click on it and then select the Compatibility tab.  There you should find a box to tick referring to running this program with full administrator rights.  Tick that, Ok and close it.

Again, launch FSX as you normally would and take a flight and see whether this more permanently fixes the problem.

Also, you should not load and run such programs from an external drive;  external drives are only good for storage and do not trasfer data fast enough through a USB port to make it useful.  Maybe you are short of hard disk space so the need to load it onto an external drive.

    Hi all,

Those who have problem in reinstalling FSX please go through this link, this will solve the problem.   Save file separately for future purposes, may or may not be available when needed on website.

Those who have activation issue after installing FSX, please go through this link, this will solve the activation error.  I faced challenges on both issues and these links helped me.  Microsoft do not support anymore FSX but they respond to your query.

Even today after many flight simulators in the market, FSX stands on top. The only draw back with FSX is, its on 32bit program and cannot take more load of graphics and HD items ( scenery, airports etc) if you are running 64 bit windows the VAS( value addressed system) is limited to 4GB and thereafter game crashes.  I recently purchased Prepar3DV4.1, its good on taking HD graphics etc since its made on 64bit program but the quality of graphics am not happy may be I need to work on some graphic settings for better.

Am not an IT expert, just try to solve my own issues with FSX and Prepar3D after going through articles in web sites.  Happy flying.
