I upgraded to the window 10 tech preview from windows 7 and now my mouse and keyboard dont work once the os loads up and brings me to the sign in screen. I cant even roll back to windows 7 now because I have no mouse input except for when the bios splash screen is showing. Any help would be amazing thank you.

2015-10-18T21:24:06+00:00 Update: I went and bought a ps2 keyboard from amazon, and with it was able to login to my system. However since my USB ports are all still dead, I can't use the mouse, only the ps2 keyboard. Opened the device manager and saw that the Intel USB xHCI host controller "did not start" and has a (!) against it. Trying to install Intel drivers in vain. Downloaded Gigabyte's driver update tool and installed it, but when running it I found that I could not use my keyboard to cycle through the options on the app... really wicked! Not able to go back to Windows 7. I am now trying to get a ps2 mouse and see if I can use to install drivers.

2015-10-19T16:17:44+00:00 So it seems the issues is in your USB controller, and not limited to mice and keyboard. In device manager if you right click on the Intel USB xHCI Controller and go to properties, what is the entire error message? Also, I have you tried using the Microsoft xHCI driver?
Are you part of the Windows Insider program? If so can I ask that you also follow the steps to repro and send us logs using the feedback tool as outlined in this blog post: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/usbcoreblog/archive/2015/08/17/filing-usb-feedback-with-repro-mode-in-windows-10.aspx
Once you filed the feedback can you reply to the thread w/ the tittle? (That will help me find it quicker on our side.)

2015-10-24T22:55:18+00:00 So I decided to revert my system back to Windows 7, as I had no option to use both mouse and keyboard at the same time in Win10. This was a bit of a struggle since Win10 (and I) didnt back up my Win7 install before upgrading. Did a clean install of Win7, installed the mobo driver bundle that came with my Gigabyte motherboard DVD, and voila! Same issue! My USB mouse and keyboard were not being recognized at login... and now in Windows 7! A few uninstalls and reinstall processes of Windows7 and I was able to rootcause it to the Intel USB 3.0 Chipset driver (that comes in the mobo install DVD). Not installing that gets me a stable install of Windows 7 (I suspect of Windows 10 as well). Everything currently works fine. I guess I dont need the extra speed of USB3 as long as I have a system that works. My USB xHCI Host controller id is 8CB1 (is the base version installed by Windows 7 update). Version 10.0.13.0.
