Mouse and keyboard input not working after windows 10 upgrade from windows 7.

I upgraded to the window 10 tech preview from windows 7 and now my mouse and keyboard dont work once the os loads up and brings me to the sign in screen. I cant even roll back to windows 7 now because I have no mouse input except for when the bios splash screen is showing. Any help would be amazing thank you.

    I just discovered that if I do a clean install of Windows 10 all  files will be wiped out on the computer.  At least according to the info give at the following site.

    So, a clean install of Windows 10 isn't an option.

    Yes, that is what a clean install is.  So you'd have to back up everything you wanted to keep before doing it and make sure you have all of the software you would need to reinstall.  It is really a PIA depending on much stuff you have installed.  But, you get a system that runs much better and efficiently.

    I have done a clean install on 1 of the 3 computers I have that are successfully running Windows 10.   It was my least used machine and had the least additional software on it.  I used Windows 10 for 2 weeks on it to make sure the OS was worth changing to.   As I determined it was I then did a clean install as there was little on that machine other than the OS.   On either of my other 2 it would be way to much work to do it.   And the desktop that is giving me the keyboard/mouse problems is my base machine so that would simply not be worth it.  I would keep using Windows 7 on it forever (nearly at least) until we get this issue resolved.

    Well I tried to do a second install of windows 10.  After having serious issues in getting a new key, since I couldn't update again after the first failed attempt, Windows 10 refused to activate.  Not sure why that was but it was an issue. 

    After installing, I got the key for 10 and did a full fresh install of windows 10 on a brand new SSD.  It installed, it validated, it worked flawlessly UNTIL it restarted.  At this point the same old issue with the USB ports not working came back.  So I used a PS2 mouse - keyboard combo and followed the steps to remove - uninstall, the USB drivers and re-booted. Well that didn't work. In fact that made the OS freak the hell out and NOT want to post at all. 

    I give up.  I am going to stick with windows 7 pro.  While win10 seems like a good OS, it is utter (uking) trash to install and get working on ASUS motherboards.

    No more ASUS boards for me either.  I am sick of their refusal to support their products for more than a week after launch.
