Mouse and keyboard input not working after windows 10 upgrade from windows 7.
I upgraded to the window 10 tech preview from windows 7 and now my mouse and keyboard dont work once the os loads up and brings me to the sign in screen. I cant even roll back to windows 7 now because I have no mouse input except for when the bios splash screen is showing. Any help would be amazing thank you.

2017-02-21T10:20:55+00:00 This happened to me randomly. Had Windows 10 for about 6 months and everything was fine. Restarted my computer one day & my USB keyboard + mouse stopped responding at the Windows 10 login screen. I read forums & tried a variety of things without success (restarting a tonne of times, waiting longer, entering safe mode ... but keyboard/mouse wasn't working in there either).
The keyboard/mouse responds when the computer just starts up, so I entered BIOS & messed around with the USB settings one by one. Eventually I played around with "Intel xHCI Mode" under advanced USB settings. It was on "Smart Auto" and I switched it to "Disabled". This did the trick - keyboard & mouse worked at the login screen.
Out of curiosity, I went back into BIOS and switched "Intel xHCI Mode" back to "Smart Auto", the same issue occurred.
Now it's permanently on "Disabled" and everything is OK *touches wood*
Hope this helps for you,
RoNi

2017-02-02T05:01:39+00:00 Restart your computer hit the F5 key to get into the recovery options. Safe mode start might work for you. I had to do a system restore.

2017-01-15T02:52:19+00:00 My PC came pre-loaded with Windows 7, so I did not have a Windows 7 Installation CD. However, I did have a Windows 7 system repair disk, but I didn't think about using it since I was trying to fix a problem with Windows 10.
