I upgraded to the window 10 tech preview from windows 7 and now my mouse and keyboard dont work once the os loads up and brings me to the sign in screen. I cant even roll back to windows 7 now because I have no mouse input except for when the bios splash screen is showing. Any help would be amazing thank you.

i found a solution to the problem, although i cannot recall too clearly how i fixed it.

    1. go to settings
    2. click on devices ( bluetooths printer mouse )
    3. scroll down on the right side until you see " related settings " and click on device and printers
    4. once you are there you should see devices , printers , and another option below printers.
    5. there should be something labled as usb controller or something similar.
    6. you have to select that device and go to the hardware tab
    7. click on properties
    8. go down to change settings
    9. go to the driver tab
    10. uninstall the driver
    11. restart the computer when you are asked to
    12. should be fixed

i believe that the port for the usb mouse was being used by whatever that controller was and after you uninstall it, then the usb mouse should work.

Asus board here as well.  Sometimes m and k would work on log in, sometimes not.  Hard power off would sometimes help.

Sometimes the M +K would work on boot, I'd log in, and THEN they would not work/freeze up.

Tried lots of options listed.  The one that did it for me was disabling legacy usb support in the bios.

Figuring this out has been not so fun. The last time I had so many mouse and keyboard issues with Windows it was 1998.

Any clue concerning Clevo's laptop ?

I first upgraded for free from windows 8.1, soon after the first boot I lost the keyboard and the touchpad, the USB mouse was still working though but the computer suffered massive lags as well.

I downgraded a back to windows 8.1 and performed a clean install, everything was running fine until I updated the OS through Windows Update, soon after I once again lost the keyboard, the touchpad and suffered huge lags.

If I'm right with the free upgrade Windows 10 updated itself with the latest security update and so on, this led me to think that my problem doesn't come from Windows 10 itself but it's updates (since everything was running smoothly after the clean install and before the updates).

Any idea about this ? Anyone had the same specific problem ? Or a solution ?

    Much thanks
