I upgraded to the window 10 tech preview from windows 7 and now my mouse and keyboard dont work once the os loads up and brings me to the sign in screen. I cant even roll back to windows 7 now because I have no mouse input except for when the bios splash screen is showing. Any help would be amazing thank you.

Update: I went and bought a ps2 keyboard from amazon, and with it was able to login to my system. However since my USB ports are all still dead, I can't use the mouse, only the ps2 keyboard. Opened the device manager and saw that the Intel USB xHCI host controller "did not start" and has a (!) against it. Trying to install Intel drivers in vain. Downloaded Gigabyte's driver update tool and installed it, but when running it I found that I could not use my keyboard to cycle through the options on the app... really wicked! Not able to go back to Windows 7. I am now trying to get a ps2 mouse and see if I can use to install drivers.

I am having trouble as well with my usb mouse and keyboard not working after an upgrade to windows 10 from windows 7. The keyboard and mouse work till BIOS, but once windows10 login screen shows up the mouse and keyboard dont work.

I have tried multiple combinations of restarts and power-downs, and repluggings of my usb keyboard and mouse. And they dont work. I have a gigabyte z97 gaming g1 mobo. Any help would be appreciated.

That sounds like a good answer for some.   I checked my AI Suite and the AICharger+ was not enabled nor was the USB boost.   The overriding problem is that since I was successful in upgrading to Windows 10 three times although each time I had to revert due to no keyboard or mouse, the Windows 10 upgrade failed the 10-15 times I have tried since then.   I also am unable to upgrade my Lenovo W520.    My take is that Windows 10 at this time is only compatible with 60% of PCs.  (I have 5 and only 3 will take the Win 10 upgrade).    That doesn't bode well for Msft stock price going forward.   First the change is free, second it doesn't work in a vast number of cases.  So far another fail from MSFT.

I second the beer! I had same setup and followed this fix and it worked like a charm.

I will clone my drive and try to reinstall AiCharger to see if it still fails and report back the findings.

    So relieved ....
