Mouse and keyboard input not working after windows 10 upgrade from windows 7.

I reverted to Win 7 as I could not figure out how to use my Desktop without a keyboard and mouse.   Given that MSFT wants us to move to tablets that they built an OS that won't work with the ancient input devices like keyboards and mice.   0K that was sarcasm for the folks that don't have English as their first language.

My first attempt to upgrade this desktop was about 8 weeks ago and I ran into the same problem.   I have tried to upgrade about 25 times since then expecting that MSFT would be working on making their new OS work with USB devices and it would not upgrade at all.   Here 8 weeks later it upgraded (don't know why) and Voila, MSFT hasn't put in a patch yet to make the OS work with USB 3.0 devices.   I have been able to upgrade 3 of my 5 machines, so I do know Win 10 can work in some cases.   Keep trying folks, I would bet that MSFT will get this fixed sometime.

Hi - this could be different issue but I just fixed a PC that had lost mouse and keyboard after attempted revert to Win7 using the info at the link below. So if the machine affected has been running Kaspersky then it could be that the AV installation has not been taken smoothly between Win7 and Win10. Worth a check. And actually there could be other AVs which insert very similar changes (mouse/keyboard drivers). Worth looking at those registry entries for anything which may be interfering...

Well i wish i could have been able to try that option but now unfortunately i am getting an error message as follows:

well fancy that, i have not changed anything or unplugged anything and now seems as though windows is screwing up itself!

I am just trying to recover my email for my business and hope i can do that....damn you microsoft!!!

I'll put that drive in later and try that and will post results, thanks SH! ;)
