I upgraded to the window 10 tech preview from windows 7 and now my mouse and keyboard dont work once the os loads up and brings me to the sign in screen. I cant even roll back to windows 7 now because I have no mouse input except for when the bios splash screen is showing. Any help would be amazing thank you.

2015-01-27T23:26:18+00:00 I have this exact same issue on my system I just updated from Windows 7. I tried a wireless keyboard and mouse along with a connected USB keyboard and mouse. I also tried restarting and still unable to get anything to work.

2015-08-17T18:03:31+00:00 Are other USB devices working on this system (ie, is it just keyboard/mice that are not working)?
Before the first reboot, I was able to access my USB media bay and look at files on a USB drive and SD cards. After the first reboot once in windows 10, I cannot get past the login screen. I did plugin different model USB keyboards and USB mice, but they are just in a hung state. I noticed the keyboards maintain the LED light state from which they were booted, but after Windows 10 comes back up, I can't even turn the NumLock or CapsLock lights on or off.
Is there another method I could use to test the USB functionality at the login screen?

2015-01-28T02:55:41+00:00 I have the same problem. I tried rebooting,moved to different USB port still does not recognize the keyboard or mouse. Also tried F8 on reboot, nothing, no mouse or keyboard. I can't do anything but shut the computer down using the power button, on start up I get to the sign in screen (Hi there, welcome back!) but still no M or K. I can't roll back (before I get to the sign in screen) because it doesn't recognize any inputs including F8. Can anyone HELP!!

2015-08-18T08:07:47+00:00 I had the same problem with an ASUS P7H55-M.
No mouse/keyboard after shutdown and restart.
Apparantly this is an issue with the hybrid shutdown option in Windows 10.
The following workaround worked for me:
You can disable Hybrid shutdown (or "fast startup", as it is called in Win 10) via Control Panel:
- open "Power Options"
- open "Choose what the power buttons do"
- click on "Change settings that are currently unavailable"
- uncheck "Turn on fast startup"
From now on Win 10 will initialize all driver on startup. This will take longer but it works.
You can force the full startup also by just cutting off the power. On the next startup your mouse and keyboard should work so you can make the changes as described above.
