Hi Simon
I am back from a work trip, and I played around with a few settings. I can now get Money Sunset Edition to run in the Windows 10 Technical Preview Build 9879.
I changed the Compatibility settings:
Good luck!

As a long term user of Microsoft Money and now Money Sunset Delux I am keen to learn if the programme will still work on the imending Windows 10? I would be happy to resume paying for Money, as for me, this is the 'Killer App' which keeps me on the Windows platform. Does anyone esle out there still use Money? How can we get this fantastic Personnal Finance software continued? or, Have you found a realisticly alternative application?

I really wish the mods could change the answer to this thread. Your problem isn't Windows 10 related actually, it is a bug in Money with adding a payee. Download the patched mnyob99.dll (linked in this thread and Googleable) and replace the one in the Money program directory.

I tried to and changed compatibility to Windows 8 which is when it worked last. Windows 10 it shuts down and closes for about a minute of wait time or if I try to "accept" a transaction.
This problem was solved over a month ago. It's just a registry entry being read that it can't handle.
I've been using Money for many years and find it very useful especially to keep track of investments in stocks.
When I moved from WIN 7 to 10, I soon found out that Money would not open up because''you need Internet Explorer 6''..
So I tried to download that version of Explorer but it would not let me because ''you have an earlier version of Explorer''.
So I deleted the version of Explorer that I had, version 12 I think; in any case, WIN 10 comes with Edge which is far better as a browser than Explorer. So you don't need Explorer.
Having done that, I downloaded Microsoft Money Plus Home, version 17; opened it up OK, I restored my saved files MNY and Money works very well.
It worked for me, why would it asks for Explorer 6? I can only surmise that it needs that to get your live stocks quotes (which was working back in he days around 2011) but this is no longer required since that service was terminated and you have to get your quotes manually.
Hope this will help somebody, bonne chance.
