I am back from a work trip, and I played around with a few settings. I can now get Money Sunset Edition to run in the Windows 10 Technical Preview Build 9879.
I changed the Compatibility settings:

As a long term user of Microsoft Money and now Money Sunset Delux I am keen to learn if the programme will still work on the imending Windows 10? I would be happy to resume paying for Money, as for me, this is the 'Killer App' which keeps me on the Windows platform. Does anyone esle out there still use Money? How can we get this fantastic Personnal Finance software continued? or, Have you found a realisticly alternative application?

No kidding... Like I said before... "It would really help a lot if "newbies" to this forum would read the entire list of responses to this problem as it would cut down on the repetition and make it clearer to all what solutions actually work and in which cases they can be used."

I was able to reload Money 2002 and run it with Windows 8.1 so I didn't expect having any problems w/Windows 10. Although the program was still there, all I'd get was an error message "Need Internet Explorer 5.5, Service Pack 1". I tried running Compatibility Settings troubleshoot and selected Windows XP then Windows 8, but got the same error with both. I didn't know if Microsoft Money Startup in Task Manager, Startup, was interfering with connecting to Money so I disabled it along with Microsoft Money Express. Error still the same.
Here's a log of the trial and error I went through to get Money 2002 to run:
1. Reinstalled Money 2002 from original program CD.
2. Selected money and the installer ran (selected Reinstall).
3. Got error message "Setup is unable to register tasks". Whatever that means!
4. Went back to the CD, selected SYSPACK to install 2002 System Pack. Reinstalled OK.
5. Tried to open Money from C drive, but got error "Unable to initialize a required Money component. Please reinstall Money . . . ".
6. Enabled Microsoft Money Setup in task manager, but got the same error.
7. Tried to reinstall Money from CD, but got the same error as in 3. Selected "Complete installation" (previously selected Basic), but still the same error.
8. Selected SETUP from money files on CD, but went to Installation Wizard so selected "Complete installation" again.
9. Opened Money on C drive and got End User License Agreement. Clicked agree and Money opened with all my balances and totals from two weeks before when I loaded Windows 10.
