Directplay on Windows 10

I can`t install DirectPlay .

When I tried to play Game in windows 10 it asked to install DirectPlay feature. I`ve  clicked on 'install this feature' it went on searching for a few seconds & then showed an error 0x800FFFF. Every  time I try same happening....

    DirectPlay is available under Windows 10 features. If you Open Control Panel, and click on Programs and Features, and select Turn Windows features on or off.  If you scroll down the list to Legacy Components, you can click the check box for **DirectPlay.**Checking this box, enables the installation of DirectPlay on demand, which means as needed. So, this will enable you to install it if a game or some other program requires it.

    It's simple. Go to windows features, disable .net framework 4.6 and hit apply. Then, under Legacy Components, enable Direct Play and hit apply. Re-enable .net framework 4.6. Hit apply. Done

    1. Right click Start
    2. Click Programs and Features
    3. Click Turn Windows features on or off
    4. Make sure there is a check in Legacy Components
    5. Click the + to expand
    6. Check the box for DirectPlay

    Worked for me.

    Blitz basic 3d was not started without it.  I got Error 22 Message when trying to run Blitz.exe file.

    I absolutely agree with comment regard the inefficiencies in windoze10

    I recently was forced (no longer a choice)to update  and it has totally stuffed up my operating system to the point that I cannot delete the update or have access to the security tolls in the window$ system.

    What was initially a supposedly free system is now going to cost money.

    This is a totally BS con trick.

    Windows 10 is Bullsh*t, insufficient , unstable, and unworldly.

    Linux and Apple are far better alternatives in my view and have become better as time goes on!

    Microsoft developers have only shown they are masters of the inadequate and backwards (really someone thought windows 8 was good enough for the market place?) Windows 10 is the apology for windows 8 that was never acceptable.

    I completely agree with all of the above-although I've been a long time Apple user for a while now but my frustration with windows when I have to deal with it I expect is quite comparable :).  Anyways, this online guide was extremely helpful to me.  I had seen most of this information in bits and pieces elsewhere but it was extremely precise and listed everything I needed to do to get my game up and running (AOE3).  To whom it concerns, here this is the link:
