Why are we forced to update to 8.1?

Hi

I want Windows 8 to 8.1 eternity but I am faced with this error

something happened and the windows 8.1 couldn't be installed please tray again

error 0x80244023

Please advise your 

With all due respect Andre, I don't appreciate being "encouraged" by way of "save your work, we're restarting to install 8.1". That's tantamount to going to your car dealer and them telling you "we're encouraging all our customers to use an automatic gearbox now, so we've installed it for you". If I want 8.1 then I'll click on "ok" and take the update, if I keep clicking no I expect it to stay at no. As for security etc, I see absolutely NO security if Microsoft can go past my firewall and meddle with my system. This backdoor update shows that despite us consumers paying hefty prices for licenses, we have no say over our computers, software and data. I'm just waiting for them to decide that they will remotely shut down any XP computers that are still around because they want to have better control over our lives. Going forward those of us who don't want ANY interference from anyone, be it MS or other organizations, will have to have 2 computers, one offline with no network that stays the way we want it and a basic box of any sort to access the web and email. Absolutely shameful move by Microsoft and one that will make many people think if Microsoft is the way to go. Ticked off is the only printable way I feel about this.

I've witnessed for eternity to Windows 8.1 with the Messaging Styles guidance

Seyed, THIS message as you show it was never presented to me, all I got was the bar across the screen saying I should upgrade which I never clicked yes, then suddenly I was prompted to restart. That's what irks me, that my decision is being ignored and 8.1 is forced upon me.

I already had Windows 8 up to 8.1 eternity, but because of the problem and now I have to replace the windows will not let me download 8.1

Do you think I should I do
