I recently purchased a laptop from Microsoft (2015 Dell XPS 13") that uses the Microsoft Precision Touchpad. There are a few issues I'm having with this touchpad that I've never noticed with other laptops and I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing these or if there are any fixes. There is a noticeable delay when trying to make slow light movements. My finger can move several millimeters before the cursor responds. It may not sound like much, but if you're trying to make subtle movements in photoshop, or select a specific character anywhere it's very noticeable and difficult to use. The majority of the time when I lift my finger the cursor will jump several pixels, often moving away from the object I'm trying to target. If you use any browser besides IE, two finger scrolling is very choppy and has a similar delay that's experienced in the first issue. There are a few other minor annoyances, like poor palm detection and using two hands (one to move the cursor and one to click with) but the issues above are the biggest annoyances, ordered by most annoying to least. If anyone has any ways to fix these issues or install different drivers, I'd love to hear about them. Thanks!

Yeah I know what you mean. Almost a perfect contender to the macbook pro and they blow it by using the worst touchpad drivers they could.

I totally returned my Dell 13" 9350 for a full refund. What a waste of an otherwise PERFECT laptop. So mad at MS and Dell, maybe 2 years from now this will be fixed. Have to keep my 2008 Dell till then.

Yeah, the problem still exists. @Any moderator, this IS a windows driver problem. Go to the Microsoft store, go to the surface book, then try it out. It has the same stupid delay which prevents precise movements. Will it ever get fixed fully? I don't think so.

Hi, OEM's are 100% responsible for everything on the computer including Windows. They sign contracts stating that fact so users will not get caught between the OEM's and Microsoft or other providers. Sorry you are having the issue however you absolutely need to be working with Dell. Rob - SpiritX I'm just another user who had the same problem and figured out pretty quickly that Dell uses Microsoft's built-in drivers for the precision mouse, at Microsoft's urging, and that only Microsoft could fix the problem. I would like to thank "MS MVP" SpiritX for doing absolutely nothing to help resolve this, for dodging and pointing away from the only company that could actually do something (Microsoft), for spamming this list repeatedly with the unhelpful "go away" post above which obscured the useful discussion happening around him, and for the following particularly nasty retort to a very relevant post indicating that Microsoft-branded laptops had the same issue and that the issue was really a native Windows driver: Hi, This thread is about a touchpad on a Dell computer, not a Surface. I have the same xps 13 9350 and when using 2 finger scrolls I get a VERY jumpy screen at times. It will scroll way down or up automatically. Does anyone else get that? I am on that latest Win10 build as well.
