If you have any themes running, disable and use just a single picture. It worked for me. Every time a theme changed pictures the game minimized.
Windows 10 minimizing any games automatically at random times
Hi,
Since I installed Windows 10, all my games minimize at random times, I don't have anything else open. It happens with Steam games, as well as games not in steam, like Guild Wars 2 for example. It is so annoying, sometimes I am playing PvP tournament and the game minimize :(
This is happening in all games that I have installed right now:
-Terraria (steam)
-MKX (steam)
-Guild Wars 2
Also I found out that is not happening just in games, sometimes while I am browsing the internet too. I use Chrome to browse.
Did some research on the internet and I found some solutions, but none did work for me. What I did so far and didn't work:
-Disabled Internet Explorer 11 (Edge?).
-Set my Nvidia GPU to single display performance.
-Deactivated Windows Defender.
-Deactivated OneDrive.
My previous version of windows was 8.1, and I never had this issue before. It is only happening since I upgraded to windows 10. Also, to make it clear, the installation was clean, only files/documents were saved from 8.1. to 10. The rest I installed my self, like steam, the games I mentioned above and my GPU drivers.
Please help.

2018-07-29T01:48:54+00:00 a temporary solution that works for me is to play in borderless mode. my pc started doing this 3 days ago with every game I play in full screen mode. I haven't found a solution yet. if u figured out a fix I'd love to know. u usually have a pretty good idea if some ones so called solution is going to work before you even do it. I didn't think scamming something was going to solve the problem and big surprise it didn't do ****. good luck finding a fix for this. I also had the windows exorer cpu usage problem. it was using 20 to 30% of my cpu . that stopped and this started a couple days later. this is why I have a ps4 too.

2018-08-27T19:04:40+00:00 This happens to me with 2 monitors. I play rainbow Six siege competitively and started happening once I turned my Primary monitor off while the game was still running (this was accidental). AS SOON AS THIS HAPPENED, I experienced the issue frequently and the ghost screen which pops-up is the Display settings screen. At least for me. In order to counter this, I simply unplugged my Secondary monitor and plug it in when I need 2 screens and am no actively gaming.
Hope this helps.

2018-08-27T20:08:35+00:00 all I needed to do was stop using wallpaper that changes. I use a single picture that doesn't cycle, like a slideshow. Every time the wallpaper picture changed is when my games minimized. Since doing this I haven't had any issues with anything minimizing on its own.
