Nokia 808 Windows 10 USB drivers

This is probably a lost cause at this point, but I've upgraded to Windows 10 and my 808 no longer connects via USB o Bluetooth. There appears to be some sort of driver issues, as in device manager there are multiple 808 and MTP entries with the exclamation mark. Uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers does nothing.

Any suggestions short of finding a Windows 8 computer and using that?

I contacted Microsoft's mobile group on Facebook about this issue, and they suggested that I reinstall the cable driver.  Tried that and...almost got it to connect.  I got to thinking that if it's the cable driver that's not working right, maybe I should try to connect without a cable.  I grabbed my little Bluetooth kernel and plugged it into my laptop and...SUCCESS!!!  I was able to sync my day-to-day stuff (pics, contacts, text messages) with no problem.  I tried to backup my phone with the suite and it went REALLY slowly, but it worked (I backed up my phone a week or so before updating to Win10, so I wasn't really too concerned about not finishing the backup today).

So, if you have a way to connect to your computer by Bluetooth, give it a try and it /should/ work to connect to Nokia Suite.  I still want to resolve this issue with the cable connectivity, though, as much out of principle as it is out of convenience.  Bugging the hell out of me...

    Hello @vienna10,

    if you do not need your Nokia mobile as 3G Modem,

    simply forget the second part of the Svetlana instructions.

    Leave the Nokia USB serial port & Nokia USB modem disabled, do not worry.

    Go ahead and have fun with Nokia Suite.

    Thank you, this sounds wonderful but it's not exactly plug and play is it? With Win 7 my old Nokia 2760 connects with bluetooth, the phone does not have a cable option, and Nokia PC suite works perfectly. Twice this year I have made a system image, upgraded to Win 10 only to find I can connect with bluetooth but cannot get Nokia PC suite to function. This leaves me having to restore from the system image and then clean up the stuff left over from the upgrade over the next two weeks. I apologise for not being a super geek which probably means I have no right to even access this forum, but I simply want to know if I will be able to use Nokia PC suite to send messages etc if I upgrade to Win 10 without having to indulge in a lot of under the bonnet activity. Until I am confident of that I will remain with Win 7

    Thanks, but I actually do need the N8 as a modem. Have been posting here for almost a year in regards to the N8.

    I got to the part where I install the Huawei Software, but cannot install the 3G modem. It asks me which port to use, but does not give me an option, so have to abort the driver install

    I never used my N8 as modem.

    I asked Svetlana for Hauwei Sofware Mobile Partner.

    She gave me the link.

    I download and installed the software then I simply followed the instructions:

    1. go to modems
    2. select NOKIA USB Modem
    3. Right click then select update driver
    4. select find software diriver already installed on pc
    5. select manually-from already installed
    6. Un-check show compatible hardware
    7. on the producer window select HUAWEI INCORPORATED
    8. on the model window select HUAWEI MOBILE CONNECT 3G MODEM
    9. then click next to update the driver and you will get Huawei mobile connect 3G modem
    10. start (double-click icon) the software "Mobile Partner"
    11. and ...... I stop here, but Svetlana says

    "-----

     Injoy. Don't Forget in modem propertyes add initialization command.
