Nokia 808 Windows 10 USB drivers

This is probably a lost cause at this point, but I've upgraded to Windows 10 and my 808 no longer connects via USB o Bluetooth. There appears to be some sort of driver issues, as in device manager there are multiple 808 and MTP entries with the exclamation mark. Uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers does nothing.

Any suggestions short of finding a Windows 8 computer and using that?

I contacted Microsoft's mobile group on Facebook about this issue, and they suggested that I reinstall the cable driver.  Tried that and...almost got it to connect.  I got to thinking that if it's the cable driver that's not working right, maybe I should try to connect without a cable.  I grabbed my little Bluetooth kernel and plugged it into my laptop and...SUCCESS!!!  I was able to sync my day-to-day stuff (pics, contacts, text messages) with no problem.  I tried to backup my phone with the suite and it went REALLY slowly, but it worked (I backed up my phone a week or so before updating to Win10, so I wasn't really too concerned about not finishing the backup today).

So, if you have a way to connect to your computer by Bluetooth, give it a try and it /should/ work to connect to Nokia Suite.  I still want to resolve this issue with the cable connectivity, though, as much out of principle as it is out of convenience.  Bugging the hell out of me...

Unfortunately, I stupidly upgraded to W10 on several machines before I realized this was a problem. Fortunately, I have several still running either W7 or W8.1, and I certainly won't upgrade them until this issue is resolved. I did not realize there was a time limit to roll back. What is the solution if the time limit has expired. I have many other problems with W10, including frequent drop of internet, which requires resetting the adapter (so I'm guessing this is a W10 problem, because it only happens on W10 machines), and the inability to print from W10 machines. I believe this is because I use a wireless printing setup, and there are both W10 and W7 machines on the same network, with a W7 machine as the printer

Is [the standalone Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver (NCCD)] relevant to us?

That driver (version 7.1.182, from August 2013) is included with the Nokia Suite and the Recovery Tool, in the same version.

    Hi.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the answer is probably NO if you are using Windows 10 with the exception of:

Can I copy photos or videos I have captured on my phone to my PC using Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver?

You do not need Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver to copy your photos or videos to your PC. Simply connect your phone to your computer with a compatible USB cable in Mass Storage mode, and you can transfer your photos and videos between your phone and PC.

The above is correct as Mass Storage mode still works in Windows 10; the problem is that the phone is not recognised in Niokia Suite wirh the cable. You cannot backup contacts etc. (You can use bluetooth instead - but than the connection is slooooooooooow and to bad for for instance beeing able to use the phone as a modem - in my case the main reason I'm back to Windows 7 now).

From an earlier post - a good summary from Dr Patel, page 4 this thread, August 20.

    1. The problem occurs in machine running windows 10(both home and pro) only. It still works fine in windows 7,8 and 8.1. If i downgrade to windows 8.1 then it works fine.
    2. I use original cable, tried resetting device, uninstalling and reinstalling Nokia PC sute software as well as drivers, aslo I make sure that it is latest version.
    3. Problem is with cable driver in PC sute mode only. I can connect the mobile in Mass Storage mode and transfer files by connecting cable.
    4. If used with Bluetooth, connection via PC sute works fine, but its too slow and cumbersome.
    5. After connecting the device, it do not detect the device(if in PC suite mode) or shows driver error.

To sum up, there is some issue with cable driver in windows 10 and none of above mentioned suggestion has solved the issue. Kindly provide some driver update ASAP.

    Thanks.

    Kind regards

Anna (Sorry for my not so good English)
