KB3023607 repeatedly removed by deepclean after KB3032359/KB3021952 (5.2mb ea) repeatedly offered/installed...

KB3021952 (Feb "Cumulative" Update for IE) invloves a "bundled" update, it includes KB3023607. KB3032359 (March "Cumulative" Update for IE) is "bundled" it includes KB3040335 & KB3023607 (Again???) KB3032359 (allegedly) supersedes KB3021952 but both are needed along with KB3023607 to have a fully patched system. The problem occurs when Windows Update Cleanup (deepclean) is run after all patches are installed, it removes KB3023607, the "bundled" update as superseded :

The KB's 3021952 & 3032359 (5.2mb) that are continually removed/re-offered/re-installed/re-removed... lather, rinse, repeat... are actually the child package component KB3023607 which gets removed by deepclean.

At this point, it's evident that MS needs to investigate why Windows Update cleanup detection logic is ...broken (for lack of a better word) on some user's computer's only, there has to be a "missing link" ... I'm out of ideas and don't see too many here or elsewhere on the Innernetz

I have 2 options to correct the problem of KB3031432 not appearing in Installed Updates but yet the MSU installer returns the message KB3031432 is already installed... and the PendingDeletes that won't.

Repair Install
Restore from prior backup image (2/12/15, after Feb ~~Black~~ Patch Tuesday, tested on spare HDD.

Thank to everyone who replied, and a special thanks to "J"... seems you're one of the few I've seen around here that "gets" it.

Edit to add: I have successfully restored my system to a previous backup image (2/12/15) prior to the "March Patch Madness" described in my OP, uninstalled the troublesome KB2852386 that enables Update Cleanup and re-applied the March '15 patches, all now appear in Installed Updates, including KB's 3023607, 3035131 & 3031432. Kindly mark this as "Answer" as I consider this matter resolved... if only temporarily.

2nd report - install & deepclean:
1. absolutely same old problem of neverendless offer of KB3021952 (same 2nd smaller part of 5.2MB originated of Feb2015) after deepclean!
A deepclean again removing/changing state of same old sh.t known as KB3023607! Now z total of Windows Update Cleanup is 88.7MB.
1. brand new fun of circle offer of KB890830 of 9.6MB in full - Malicious SW Removal Tool April 2015 - WITHOUT ANY DEEPCLEAN!!!!
I mean this KB was offered again and installed 2nd time before I performed any deepclean. Thus deapclean doesn't affect this issue at all!

Pls prompt some new tricks to try if any!

Meanwhile, both KBs above put to hidden. So it's now z 5 total in my hidden list along with those 3 ones of upgrading...

p.s. this time after deepclean and pc restart win7 was stuck at logon page for almost 15min while cleaning up something. It's uncommon! And then CCleaner cleaned out 16,820MB of files - mainly win errors info. Same uncommon!

Are KB3038314, KB3042553, KB3046306, KB3046269, KB3045999, KB3045685, KB3046482, KB3037574 andKB2990214 all listed in Installed Updates now and if so, is KB3032359 and/or KB3021952 still offered after you've run Disk Cleanup without the Windows Update Cleanup option enabled?

As long as KB3038314 is listed in Installed Updates, don't worry about (i.e., feel free to hide) KB3032359 and/or KB3021952.

I'd hoped that KB3038314 and/or KB2990214 might have resolved the "Deepclean" behavior but apparently not - so your best bet is to stop using the "Deepclean" option for the time being.

[I suspect the Powers That Be are more concerned with getting Win10 RTM out the door than fixing the Win7 "Deepclean" ****-up.]
