DirectDraw emulation still broken in Windows 10

Hello, Microsoft, please fix DirectDraw, considering Windows 10 is your last OS, and loads of people have complained about this in Windows 8, and it's STILL NOT FIXED IN 10. most games DX8 and below run horrible thanks to this, either screwed up colours and/or a very bad framerate to other problems such as sprites not loading. This is odd considering it was fine in Windows 7.

An example is Red Alert 2, it's unplayable unless you use a 3rd party directdraw emulation such as WineD3D.

Another example is Commandos 3, the graphics are corrupted and it crashes on some missions making it unplayable.

And no compatibility settings don't fix any of this.

All we need is Windows 7's DirectDraw emulation back since that was fine.

Cmon microsoft fix this!

Same issues with Total Annihilation, every version. Runs fine in Windows 7 but in anything after that, we cannot alt tab, get corrupted colours, crashes and very low FPS. Please fix this

Try the DX9 installer and see if it can find and update the files you need/

No, this is a very old game, 1997. It worked fine in Windows 7, and in 8, 8.1 and 10 it does not. The original post is correct. Come on Microsoft... This should be a very easy fix for you

if it's that old it may be DX7 or DX8, those games are hit and miss to work

https://hardcoregames.azurewebsites.net/black-dahlia/ came out in 1998 and it does not work right either

The OP is exactly right in what he is saying. I am just here to tell Microsoft that there's another community that would massively appreciate a fix for this. The Total Annihilation community. Many players are reverting back to Windows 7 just to play but ultimately it's going to kill the game and its community. We need a fix, considering it worked fine in Windows 7, it can't be too hard?
