DirectDraw emulation still broken in Windows 10
Hello, Microsoft, please fix DirectDraw, considering Windows 10 is your last OS, and loads of people have complained about this in Windows 8, and it's STILL NOT FIXED IN 10. most games DX8 and below run horrible thanks to this, either screwed up colours and/or a very bad framerate to other problems such as sprites not loading. This is odd considering it was fine in Windows 7.
An example is Red Alert 2, it's unplayable unless you use a 3rd party directdraw emulation such as WineD3D.
Another example is Commandos 3, the graphics are corrupted and it crashes on some missions making it unplayable.
And no compatibility settings don't fix any of this.
All we need is Windows 7's DirectDraw emulation back since that was fine.
Cmon microsoft fix this!

2015-11-26T12:56:22+00:00 For me it's worse than windows 8, because the game commandos 3 i mentioned earlier, did actually play on windows 8 although it had some corrupted graphics. But on windows 10 it crashes whenever you use the sniper scope making it impossible to pass any mission that uses the sniper.
I cannot upgrade to windows 10 till this has fixed I have a bunch of old games laying around and I don't want them just to be paperweight.

2015-10-20T01:49:28+00:00 This applies to all games that uses Direct Draw.Something was broken from windows 7 to Windows 8 and 3 years later is still amazingly broken in windows 10.You need to repond to this. I already told ppl to hold off installing windows 10 because of this and other minute annoying problems like Sims 4 running like **** with the latestes drivers and all versus how it ran in Windows 7.So far im not recommending the upgrade to anyone. There are still tons of other issues not directly related to this but this is one of those things that should just not be broken.I found this to work for Red alert at least.

2015-09-24T01:51:07+00:00 This is a huge issue that was also in windows 8. The same exact machine using windows 7 plays the games better in terms of framerate and working. Something changed around then and I hope you guys can fix it. Here is a link mentioning the issue which I believe you saw but just curious if it's still being looked into.
Some other issues include games running a window and you cannot force full screen either. examples of this are **** II, Max Payne 1. Also the original Splinter Cell has flickering issues.

2015-09-19T04:02:58+00:00 I am unable to start ANNO 1602 in Windows 10 from GOG.com. It reports that DirectDraw needs to be installed, and the .NET 3.5 installer starts. It goes thru an installation progress and then fails. Subsequently the game is unable to run afterward. If I tell the initial dialog box to skip the install, then the game also never starts.
