SFC cannot fix corrupted files in Windows 7 -- Windows Update for May 2015?

I believe we have a system wide problem!  No, I am not kidding.  I routinely run SFC on computers and it almost always returns a report of no problems or not often but sometimes reports that it found problems and fixed them.  Rarely, it reports corruption found and not fixed.  In those instances the only way I know to fix this in Windows 7 is to re-build the OS.

 In the past several days I have run SFC on 5 different computers all running Windows 7, but in different places, used by different people. 

All report SFC found corrupted files and was unable to fix them.

I do not know if there is corruption, if SFC is itself incorrect, let alone how to fix this.  There is suspicion that the May 2015 patches may have caused this.

    There is no downside to removing Windows Updates.  Microsoft computers are so full of security holes that the phrase "Windows Security" is considered something of an oxymoron.  If you're concerned about security you should have moved to a Linux or BSD desktop years ago.  

    Again -basic security- you should never keep files that are critical to the function of your personal finances or business on a Wndows computer.  If you don't already have those functions administered by Linux or BSD servers then you need to make that switch ASAP.

    Are you telling me that this particular Windows 7 computer has KB 3022345 installed and SFC does not report a problem?

    Yes. The symptoms displayed  after installing   KB 3022345  vary from one computer top another. These variations are likely caused by differing third party installed software. Some computers crash and some do not.  

    Don't forget this update was temporarily withdrawn and reissued.

    Just noticed that when I look at it now, it is showing 'recommended' as a hidden update, rather than 'important' as originally offered. - R.

    First off, thank you all who reported/responded to this post.  It was very helpful.  I couldn't figure out what was causing my corrupt file message after running sfc /scannow.

    I would like to ask the status of KB 3022345.  I saw that it was re-issued.  Was this before this latest round of complaints or is in okay to download and install now?  I am running Win7 Home Edition.

    The reissue was very quick so it is impossible to tell at this point of time whether it resolved any problems. Users have no means of determining whether they installed the original or the reissued version of the update.
