You may have recently imported data from the Classic MSN or my.msn.com pages to the new MSN.com Money Watchlist/Portfolio and may not have received all of your Watchlist/Portfolio data. The MSN team has resolved the issue and you can now regain access to that information by following the steps below.

Note: These steps only apply if your Watchlist has already been imported and there is data missing. If you have not already imported a Watchlist, please go to the Watchlist, sign in, and you will then be prompted to begin the import. You may need to return to this step if you find that data is missing after your first attempt to import.

Step 1: Create a new Watchlist and delete any Watchlists from previous imports

Step 2: Re-import your existing Watchlist or Portfolio data from MSN.com or my.msn.com into a new Watchlist

Step 3: Clean any erroneous data imported into your new Watchlist(s).

The import still does not work. Is anyone working on this at MSFT?

Morningsleeper,

Did you check out the Google finance PM? It looks pretty good and there doesnt seem to be transaction limits . You can have multiple portfolios. but it looks like you must view each portfolio one at a time.

I think the new PM is a copy job of the Google PM, but Google is alot better.

I just started looking at the Google PM, but shockwave plugins keep hanging me up.

Hello Adriana,

What can we do to get our lists from the old portfolio manager? It is supposed to expire the 22nd Dec, but seems to be already closed. No access to the old and no import prompts to the new and no data in the new either. I followed the instructions above but to no avail.

I have more than 10 years of data in the old portfolio manager and no way to access it since a week or so . What can I do now to get my data?

Take a look at the Google Portfolio Manager. Its similar to Morningstar, but simpler, easier to use and alot more slick.

Everyone talks about Morningstar, but I think Google deserves a mention.

Unlike Morningstar, Google doesnt appear to have a 100 transaction limit.

Unfortunately, like Morningstar, you can see only one portfolio at a time.

The old PM is still my first choice, but the Google PM might be runner up. Im still evaluating. Maybe Quicken is better If you have a very large number of transactions? I have never used Quicken.

On the last link Forbes discusses Morningstar on page 1 and Google on page 2. I dont know why Forbes didnt mention the old PM.
