Learn more about the new features in MyWatchlist by clicking here: My Watchlist: FAQ

You may have recently imported data from the Classic MSN or my.msn.com  pages to the new MSN.com Money Watchlist/Portfolio and may not have received all of your Watchlist/Portfolio data. The MSN team has resolved the issue and you can now regain access to that information by following the steps below.

Note: These steps only apply if your Watchlist has already been imported and there is data missing. If you have not already imported a Watchlist, please go to the Watchlist, sign in, and you will then be prompted to begin the import. You may need to return to this step if you find that data is missing after your first attempt to import.

Step 1: Create a new Watchlist and delete any Watchlists from previous imports

Step 2: Re-import your existing Watchlist or Portfolio data from MSN.com or my.msn.com into a new Watchlist

Step 3: Clean any erroneous data imported into your new Watchlist(s).

If you need more details about the steps, please go to this article.

If you are still having difficulties or would like to report any errors, please reply to this thread.

Thank you!

I have been using Portfolio Manager since 1999. It was free and simply the best of its kind. Over the years the PM underwent several changes - all of them for the worst.

I am a programmer turned trader. As a programmer and a user I was puzzled and annoyed to see how incompetent MSN Money programmers were. But I stayed on-board because there weren't other alternatives that I knew and I just got used to it.

Over the years I have made thousands of trades. In the last days of the PM I took upon myself to take screen shots of the trades that I had made. It took me hours and I wasn't even 20% done.

With the PM now gone, I have 15 years of data lost.

The new watchlist is a joke. Anybody can write html based quotes list. But the best ones are Java, Flash or in the old PM case, asp based. So folks, don't go to Yahoo, Morningstar, Google or any place that was suggested in this forum. They are nearly worthless. Their functionality and user interface is far inferior to good portfolio managers. Find a good portfolio manager, even if you have to pay $50 for it. It's worth it. I had done some research about it a long time ago and there are many of them.

This is my last post about this. If my post will be deleted because of my rebuke it just shows how low has Microsoft gone.

I have two machines - a Windows one and a Linux one. I kept the Microsoft one almost entirely because of the PM. I am done with Microsoft. There's a reason why Microsoft stagnated over the years and why Apple has become so successful and big that it could swallow Microsoft now.

I have no more expectations from Microsoft anymore. I just hope that the protests of the people here will reach some ears at Microsoft and will cause some change.

I wish everybody good luck. There is life after Microsoft.

    Signing out,

    Sam

I, too, liked the old PM and had been using it for about 15 years.  Yesterday, after months of problems and failed attempts to find my portfolio data, I bit the bullet and called MSN Premium support at 800-494-2962.  A friendly and helpful woman in India (3:30 AM her time) managed to import my data to the new watch list, but it took almost an hour on my cell-phone and she had to take over my computer.  It still isn't quite right, but at least some of my data is there.  Now the problem is, there seems to be no way to print my data or to format it in a way I like.  If the old PM isn't restored by February, I guess I'll save $59.95/yr by dropping MSN Premium.
