You may have recently imported data from the Classic MSN or my.msn.com  pages to the new MSN.com Money Watchlist/Portfolio and may not have received all of your Watchlist/Portfolio data. The MSN team has resolved the issue and you can now regain access to that information by following the steps below.

Note: These steps only apply if your Watchlist has already been imported and there is data missing. If you have not already imported a Watchlist, please go to the Watchlist, sign in, and you will then be prompted to begin the import. You may need to return to this step if you find that data is missing after your first attempt to import.

Step 1: Create a new Watchlist and delete any Watchlists from previous imports

Step 2: Re-import your existing Watchlist or Portfolio data from MSN.com or my.msn.com into a new Watchlist

Step 3: Clean any erroneous data imported into your new Watchlist(s).

    I thought I was already paying for the use of PM.  I paid $20.00 per yr to use Windows Live Hotmail Plus and that allowed me to get into Portfolio Manager..  Otherwise you could only have a ticker watchlist for free without email account.  Yes, I would be willing to pay more a year to keep the old PM.  Are you listening Microsoft????

    Anyway...my last post I said I would follow Bob Berger's article and import from my Excell.

    It worked!  the only error in the article was that you need to save your data worksheet into a certain format and he had the letters reversed.  The fomat needed is:  .csv format (comma delimited)

    That method might be useful.

    I have not found a way to export the original Portfolio into Excel, or into .csv format.

    using Internet Explorer; use the print function while viewing your portfolio manager, then copy and paste to a blank excel worksheet.  you do not need to use csv format for the copy and paste

    Right you are, Jack. The Print function was one of the most useful things about PM - I've printed every day for years. Obviously they could care less about their actual users!

    I was able to import my old list okay (though did not look like it at first) into the new Watchlist.

    Is there a way to customize the view?  E.g., I don't need the full stock name spelled out and waste screen space; can I select and re-arrange columns as before?

    Any way to change font size?  Old format allowed me to see all 15 or so at once; now I have to scroll.

    Agree with may others this is not a step forward, in spite of what I am sure were good intentions.

    What a mystery. Just what were their intentions in this awful move?
