Know more about My Watchlist

Some of you have probably noticed that they have degraded the OLD PM in a several ways...  (1) One cannot add any purchases, sales or other changes;    (2)  The 'news' for each stock has not been changed since November 5th;  and    (3)  When one clicks on a news item, we are directed to the new MSN financial page and the news item is impossible to find.  It seems obvious to me that subsequent changes are on the way so that the OLD PM will be so degraded that each of us will voluntarily move to another program.

I have not waded through all the posts but, as of this morning when I made an effort to import my OLD PM to the NEW system, it would not take all 64 equity positions but (I am guessing) only abut 50 of them.

Off all the posts I have seen, I don't recall Adriana ever saying just why these improvements were instituted.  Certainly, not for the users!

It's a sad day. I pulled up my OLD GOOD PM & got no updates. I have tried dozens of times to import my data to the NEW 'My Watchlist"  w/frustratingly disappointing results. The new My Watchlist Format is so big and unwieldy that you can't pull up another screen from which to compare and add/correct "My Watchlist" i.e. when you compress the NEW Watchlist,, you lose some of the columns w/the data you need to see to correct. The Format for "My Watchlist" is waaay to big and unwieldy to view and manage in terms of transactions you've made over time & need to SEE at the SAME time to COMPARE & thus make a decision on whether or not to trade. All of this you could easily do w/MSN Money PM.  MSN Money PM was, hands down, much better in every way. No question about it. I am dazed and confused as to whose big idea this was. One thing for sure...it sure wasn't someone who had/has a portfolio of any size to manage. It is clearly a step backwards. So far backward that I probably won't even go to the trouble of transferring my current holdings to track from this point on.  There's just not enough functionality there to make it worth my while. As far as finance & the new MS format and Watchlist (that's the right word cause it sure isn't anything to try and manage a portfolio with). Microsoft is minoring in majors and majoring in minors. ;-(

Is there any hope of getting the old portfolio manager back? If the old service is truly EOL, then at least be honest with us users about it. 

I still am stuck in migration hell, and so far it seems like there is no progress on improving that.

I have searched & searched for something that can compete w/MS Money PM and haven't found it. This was such a good application. UNBELIEVEABLE that MS would give up on it. SOMEBODY should acquire it and pair it w/their Financial Website. YAHOO would be the logical one to do it. Melissa Myers has a genius for simplicity that she exhibited when she designed the GOOGLE home page. She's smart enough to know what works and stick with it.

Money Portfolio Manager is a WINNER. Microsoft needs to refocus on integrating this application. Sure it can be improved, but it is fundamentally sound UNLIKE "My Watchlist" which is fundamentally flawed. Offer users a choice and I guarantee they'll choose Money Portfolio Mgr. over My Watchlist.

This is one of the best messages I have read!  Please keep the old PM.  It would be hard for me to change, but I would so I could keep the format of the old PM.  I have had it since 1999 and look at it probably every day.  My holdings are not great, but it is all I have.
