I have shared the issues and feedback to the product team for the last couple of months and they did implement several fixes on the new MyWatchlist since then and they will probably continue to do so but they are not going back to the old PM. It's going to be retired for good. Sorry.

The PM portfolio was down for at least 8 days.

The PM portfolio will be retired on Dec 22, even though the unusable Watchlist is not what the users want.

That is a deliberate slap at the users.  It looks like they clearly do not want us.

The least they could do would be to keep PM portfolio available past Jan 1, so that an end of year report could be made. 

Users could then use the month of January to figure out an alternative.

The arbitrary cut off date of Dec 22 makes no sense.  It would be difficult to defend MSN after this.

I have used PM for at least 12 years and last week switched over to quicken and am happy with the switch. It  will auto-update your portfolio transactions which is a huge time saver

did you get all your accounts, stocks and transactions? Mine just came on but the only thing i have is compx, indust, etc

It doesn't surprise me when a code base is retired.  There are strategic considerations here so that M/S can use the same code base to support web based and smart phone and tablet markets.  What this does is allow a higher user predictability of what they will see when using this app on the different platforms.  It also allows a smaller support footprint and a coherent upgrade cycle.

On the downside, it means M/S will not be taking advantage of the protocols only found on the PC and not on Android or the Ipad/Iphone devices or vice versa.  In other words, the capabilities will only be those found on all the systems that use this application.

That being said, this application has been woefully undertested and poorly conceived.  The effort needed to balance the numbers between the transactions and the Portfolio Holdings tab's Number of shares has been huge.  Sorting / Reordering wasn't working for much of the time, and Date sorting of transactions still isn't working.  

A common task: review all transactions for an equity in chronological order, as for tax purposes.  This isn't possible now.

The project manager and most of the software developers have very little idea of what a portfolio manager is used for.  Where are annualized numbers?  Where is the amount of the dividend?  Where is the flexibility to choose columns?

I've been using PM since 1997 and have about 3000 transactions that migrated over.  I won't be reentering them all, but my goal for now is to migrate everything over, choose a future home for my portfolio management, and always enter all future data in excel as well as the selected portfolio manager.

I finally was able to open the Old Portfolio today and copied stock holdings in to Excel.

Also went to the New Watchlist and used the link on the right  for more info on Watchlist to go to Troubleshooting and used the Retry Import.  It worked the second time I tried. 

The migration did not work until I deleted some of the individual portfolios with my Portfolio Manager apparently to get to an acceptable number of items to migrate.

So Thanks for your help and I am partially satisfied. At least I have the latest portfolio information migrated into New Watchlist.
