Learn more about the new features in MyWatchlist by clicking here: My Watchlist: FAQ

You may have recently imported data from the Classic MSN or my.msn.com  pages to the new MSN.com Money Watchlist/Portfolio and may not have received all of your Watchlist/Portfolio data. The MSN team has resolved the issue and you can now regain access to that information by following the steps below.

Note: These steps only apply if your Watchlist has already been imported and there is data missing. If you have not already imported a Watchlist, please go to the Watchlist, sign in, and you will then be prompted to begin the import. You may need to return to this step if you find that data is missing after your first attempt to import.

Step 1: Create a new Watchlist and delete any Watchlists from previous imports

Step 2: Re-import your existing Watchlist or Portfolio data from MSN.com or my.msn.com into a new Watchlist

Step 3: Clean any erroneous data imported into your new Watchlist(s).

If you need more details about the steps, please go to this article.

If you are still having difficulties or would like to report any errors, please reply to this thread.

Thank you!

    Everyone,

We are all looking at a firm deadline for existing information of 12/22.  Make

your copies and backups in whatever say you can.

MSN has given us notice of that ending date.  Act as if there will be no extension.

There are some options of alternative sites that have been posted on this

thread.  I have gone to Morningstar.  What is best for others may be different.

I would also suggest the fall-back position of using the resources of your own

brokerage company.  It might be better than what you had imagined.

Make you choices and changes quickly without a thought that MSN is going

to resolve anything before that 'drop dead' date of 12/22.

This is my final post.  I sincerely wish each of you good luck in a very frustrating

    situation.

It was nice while it lasted but I am moving on and am not looking back.

I was able to import my old list okay (though did not look like it at first) into the new Watchlist.

Is there a way to customize the view?  E.g., I don't need the full stock name spelled out and waste screen space; can I select and re-arrange columns as before?

Any way to change font size?  Old format allowed me to see all 15 or so at once; now I have to scroll.

Agree with may others this is not a step forward, in spite of what I am sure were good intentions.

I keep trying.  I have no PM.  The new one will not let me put in number of shares.  I inherited stock in 1999, and don't know how much I paid.  The old one knew.  Plus the new one will not let me put in older dates.  It also does not show how much I have gained or lost since I bought it.  Why can't you make a new one just like the old PM?  Please try.

I have used MSN portfolio manager to track multiple accounts at once and provide a total balance for all accounts which was easily displayed.  It seems that after the migration to the new platform, only one watchlist and its value can be displayed.  Is this true?  It would be a shame to lose the ability to track total value of all portfolios.

Yesterday, Dec 8, my MSN Portfolio stated that it would end Dec 22, news to me.  I followed the instructions, deleted old Watchlist, added new Watchlist, retry the migration.  I have done this numerous times.  All my portfolio items become separate lines, no items in the Watchlist.  Each account is a separate 'watchlist' I guess.

When I look at 'portfolio holdings' at each separate listing, a couple them have the correct number of shares.  Most of them have an incorrect number of shares.  I can look at the older Portfolio, and it does have the correct number of shares.  I can't tell why they do not migrate correctly.

I can't tell why all items are not within the Watchlist in the form of a Portfolio, with subtotals and total.

I will be out of the country Dec 12-22.  It looks like I will return to find that I cannot access my portfolio.

I will not be able to make an end of year report.

I find no way to actually ask either MSN or Microsoft, only several forums.  Each of those simply refer to the same instructions.

    Very Frustrating.
