Learn more about the new features in MyWatchlist by clicking here: My Watchlist: FAQ

You may have recently imported data from the Classic MSN or my.msn.com  pages to the new MSN.com Money Watchlist/Portfolio and may not have received all of your Watchlist/Portfolio data. The MSN team has resolved the issue and you can now regain access to that information by following the steps below.

Note: These steps only apply if your Watchlist has already been imported and there is data missing. If you have not already imported a Watchlist, please go to the Watchlist, sign in, and you will then be prompted to begin the import. You may need to return to this step if you find that data is missing after your first attempt to import.

Step 1: Create a new Watchlist and delete any Watchlists from previous imports

Step 2: Re-import your existing Watchlist or Portfolio data from MSN.com or my.msn.com into a new Watchlist

Step 3: Clean any erroneous data imported into your new Watchlist(s).

If you need more details about the steps, please go to this article.

If you are still having difficulties or would like to report any errors, please reply to this thread.

Thank you!

I too am frustrated with the whole situation. Been using portfolio manager for as long as I can remember and the history I have stored there is massive.  Tried the import a few weeks ago and it was a mess.  Deleted everything and cannot find a way to re-import, the prompt does not come up any longer. What is so hard? Just duplicate the functionality that was provided. Obviously from the comments everyone loved the product as it was. Provide a means to import the data and be kind enough to provide your devoted users with the reasoning for the changes you are making.  Moving the history to the new product manually would be painful and so time consuming that I cannot imagine it can be accomplished before the deadline of the 22nd especially given the holidays are upon it.    I have never seen such a well loved product pulled from production in such an abusive manner.   That's all I have to say to Microsoft and sure hope that someone out there is listening.

    Everyone,

We are all looking at a firm deadline for existing information of 12/22.  Make

your copies and backups in whatever say you can.

MSN has given us notice of that ending date.  Act as if there will be no extension.

There are some options of alternative sites that have been posted on this

thread.  I have gone to Morningstar.  What is best for others may be different.

I would also suggest the fall-back position of using the resources of your own

brokerage company.  It might be better than what you had imagined.

Make you choices and changes quickly without a thought that MSN is going

to resolve anything before that 'drop dead' date of 12/22.

This is my final post.  I sincerely wish each of you good luck in a very frustrating

    situation.

It was nice while it lasted but I am moving on and am not looking back.

I cannot make a copy.  The PM has already been removed.  I am 72 years old and not really good at this computer.  What can I do?

I created a new watchlist and deleted all other watchlists from previous imports.

Now I don't see any watch list except for the new one that I created.

I don't see any option there to re-import my old watchlists.

    Please help.

I have been using portfolio manager since 1997.  It has gotten less and less user friendly over the years but I stuck with it because of all my history. Now I cannot even get my portfolio to migrate and can get no help in doing so. My time with Microsoft has now come to an end. Without portfolio manager I have no need to use anything left in IE. I have just started my account in Google for the very first time.

Syonara microsoft. It has been a love hate relationship for the past 20 years but now I am breaking all ties and canceling my subscription

    very unhappy customer

I'm afraid you are correct; it is clear the new site will not provide the features of the old.

In the new site, I went to transaction page and printed that to PDF; I am not sure really have all my old transactions so, yes, I just did 'print screen' copy/paste into PPT files of the images so I have some record of the transactions from the old portfolio manager.  It has come to this.

Thanks for the tip to Morningstar.
