Learn more about the new features in MyWatchlist by clicking here: My Watchlist: FAQ

You may have recently imported data from the Classic MSN or my.msn.com  pages to the new MSN.com Money Watchlist/Portfolio and may not have received all of your Watchlist/Portfolio data. The MSN team has resolved the issue and you can now regain access to that information by following the steps below.

Note: These steps only apply if your Watchlist has already been imported and there is data missing. If you have not already imported a Watchlist, please go to the Watchlist, sign in, and you will then be prompted to begin the import. You may need to return to this step if you find that data is missing after your first attempt to import.

Step 1: Create a new Watchlist and delete any Watchlists from previous imports

Step 2: Re-import your existing Watchlist or Portfolio data from MSN.com or my.msn.com into a new Watchlist

Step 3: Clean any erroneous data imported into your new Watchlist(s).

If you need more details about the steps, please go to this article.

If you are still having difficulties or would like to report any errors, please reply to this thread.

Thank you!

It is very sad that Microsoft is doing this to us.  I guess that we just do not matter to them.

I don't think this new feature works at all.  I have tried to import my watch lists a number of times, and nothing happens.

Deleted previous watch lists created from prior import as they were un-useable and re-imported a few moments ago.  This import was better but data remains incomplete.  When I have more time I will attempt to modify. I am printing my old portfolio to compare but this is a big time project and will take some time.  One of the main reasons I used MSN portfolio manager was that it allowed me to track dividends and dividend reinvestments and see the performance of a stock with that info included in the gain/loss.  The reporting mechanism from my brokerage account does not provide that information and I loved this feature.   I do miss not being able to see all my portfolios on one page and a complete total for everything.  Is there a link you can provide that explains what benefit the user is getting from this change other than providing mobile platform support?

    Dec 10

The Watchlist page has no way or link to retry the data import from the old Portfolio.  I found the link in another of the several forums about this subject:

    http://www.msn.com/en-us/money/watchlist/migrationsupport

The old Portfolio is still available at http://moneycentral.msn.com/stock_portfolio .  This says it will ‘shut down completely on Dec 22, 2014’.

From the print function at the top, I made a copy, saving account names and quantities, as I have done every month for the 15 years.  There is no way to save the hundreds of transactions from the past 15 years.

Since I will be away from Dec 12 through Dec 23, I will have no Portfolio when I return, no way to make and end of year printout.

The new Watchlist is not really a Portfolio.

In my case, the Watchlist itself is a list of the various funds held in my accounts, with no ‘portfolio holdings’.  Even old funds no longer used are listed.  This cannot be corrected using the ‘manage transactions’ function, where I selected to show only funds currently held’.

Each of my accounts is shown as a separate Watchlist, and includes the holdings in each account.

Only one of these has the correct balance.  The balances in the old Portfolio are correct.

At each of these holding, transactions can be listed back about 2 years.  A red message says ‘some transactions in this portfolio are invalid’.  That is a mystery; all transactions are ok in the old Portfolio.

Position balances are shown to only 2 decimal places.  That alone makes them incorrect.

There is no way to rearrange the columns across the top.  I do not see a way to print a report, which would be for only one position.  The entire portfolio cannot be seen on the same page.

I have deleted all Watchlists, made a new Watchlist marked ‘default’ and run the ‘retry import’ repeatedly.  I get the same result every time, incorrect data.

To summarize, it is a sad state of affairs.
