Learn more about the new features in MyWatchlist by clicking here: My Watchlist: FAQ

You may have recently imported data from the Classic MSN or my.msn.com  pages to the new MSN.com Money Watchlist/Portfolio and may not have received all of your Watchlist/Portfolio data. The MSN team has resolved the issue and you can now regain access to that information by following the steps below.

Note: These steps only apply if your Watchlist has already been imported and there is data missing. If you have not already imported a Watchlist, please go to the Watchlist, sign in, and you will then be prompted to begin the import. You may need to return to this step if you find that data is missing after your first attempt to import.

Step 1: Create a new Watchlist and delete any Watchlists from previous imports

Step 2: Re-import your existing Watchlist or Portfolio data from MSN.com or my.msn.com into a new Watchlist

Step 3: Clean any erroneous data imported into your new Watchlist(s).

If you need more details about the steps, please go to this article.

If you are still having difficulties or would like to report any errors, please reply to this thread.

Thank you!

Watchlist did not import my portfolio manager.  My portfolio manager is zeroed out.  All of my current and long term investment data is gone.  Zeroed out.

Hi Adriana, Thanks for your reply. I sure hope some solution is given soon because the date MSN gives for complete shut down of Old Portfolio is Dec 22.  I look forward to your help.

    Hello everyone,

I've just returned from vacation and am reading thru the threads. My colleague Claus Loos and Community Moderator Smittychat had also reported this issue several days ago to the MSN team. I have also escalated the issue/error you are seeing with the old portfolio manager when trying to import your data and hope to have an update for you.

I am sorry you are having difficulties. Hang in there!

    Thanks for your patience.

    Adriana

I see your response from Nov 26  but the steps you indicate have already been tried and have not worked. I never get prompted to import my portfolio, I tried several times, creating and deleting the watchlists.  I cleared my browser, siged in, used the links given in kb3004532, called chat on line and called phone  800 386 5550 (won't help here because I do not have a paid MSN act).  NONE OF THESE  work. I still can not migrate from old portfolio to new watchlist. I never got any of my old portfolio to migrate.

Then when you click NO to the question if it was helpful and get an answwer tech in a chat they say they are not equipped to handle this type of problem and I need to call MSN tech support. But MSN tech support refuses to do anything because I do not have a paid subscription.

I guess all we can do now is wait and pray that MS gets it fixed before they decide to close it down for good.

Please find help for the 5000 people posting about this problem. You can see that thousands of people have posted that they cannot migrate the Old Portfolio or even part of it to the New Watchlist. Your steps to migrate do not work because the MSN server never responds to the Retry Import link. The error message that displays on the old Portfolio site merely takes you to the new Watchlist with no way to import. If I try to do trouble shoot suggestions and use links nothing happens. I need someone at MSN to call me to talk me through the solution. Give me phone # where I can call, please.
