You may have recently imported data from the Classic MSN or my.msn.com  pages to the new MSN.com Money Watchlist/Portfolio and may not have received all of your Watchlist/Portfolio data. The MSN team has resolved the issue and you can now regain access to that information by following the steps below.

Note: These steps only apply if your Watchlist has already been imported and there is data missing. If you have not already imported a Watchlist, please go to the Watchlist, sign in, and you will then be prompted to begin the import. You may need to return to this step if you find that data is missing after your first attempt to import.

Step 1: Create a new Watchlist and delete any Watchlists from previous imports

Step 2: Re-import your existing Watchlist or Portfolio data from MSN.com or my.msn.com into a new Watchlist

Step 3: Clean any erroneous data imported into your new Watchlist(s).

    Please ignor the first post as i tried to edit it and of course just like MSN's new Watchlist it would not edit so i had to copy and paste the edited version

    I was finally able to import my 20+ years of data into the new My Watchlist and it is an unmitigated diaster. The new system is horrible, has very limited funtionality, and completly useless for anyone with a large data base. How can Microsoft be so stupid! I guess they just don't care. Can someone help me as to how to save the database with the transactions data to Excel or any other way; not sure i understand how to do it. Without the transaction data the summary data is relativly worthless

    There's a concept? What a concept!  "MSN works in a customer service free environment." Now that sums this, (and most other MS experiences), up pretty well I think! I do, however, want to thank Adriana for attempting to help us with this. I'm certain it is very frustrating for her as well.

    I'm switching to the CNN Portfolio, it's not as good as PM, but its much better than the new MSN Watchlist, you can connect directly to multiple brokerages and get your data directly from them, or enter positions manually. Then you can access on a browser or via their app. You can at least get a total across all your portfolios. I wont be staying with MSN after this debacle, 15 years of transaction history down the drain.

    I was reading about the CNN Porfolio and I see its powered by Sigfig.  I dont think Sigfig asks the date of aquisition when you manually enter the information.  If so, you cant use it for preparing taxes.

    I just assumed MSN would extend the deadline an extra week because the old PM was offline the entire week before the deadlline (nobody minding the store).  Fuzzy thinking on my part.  MSN works in a customer service free environment.

    Is it at all possible to retrieve all the transactions without laboriously copying them by hand?

    I do a print screen (Alt and Print Screen pressed at the sametime) of the transaction detail of each individual stock in the old PM.  I then copy (Ctrl and V pressed at the sametime) the print screen into an excel file.  I have a worksheet for each individual stock screen print.  At the bottom of the excel file the worksheets are labeled   BAC  C  COP  DHI  FFIV IBM  etc.

    I think most people are also doing print screens to get the data out.

    Good luck getting your information out by this weekend.
