You may have recently imported data from the Classic MSN or my.msn.com  pages to the new MSN.com Money Watchlist/Portfolio and may not have received all of your Watchlist/Portfolio data. The MSN team has resolved the issue and you can now regain access to that information by following the steps below.

Note: These steps only apply if your Watchlist has already been imported and there is data missing. If you have not already imported a Watchlist, please go to the Watchlist, sign in, and you will then be prompted to begin the import. You may need to return to this step if you find that data is missing after your first attempt to import.

Step 1: Create a new Watchlist and delete any Watchlists from previous imports

Step 2: Re-import your existing Watchlist or Portfolio data from MSN.com or my.msn.com into a new Watchlist

Step 3: Clean any erroneous data imported into your new Watchlist(s).

If you need more details about the steps, please go to this article.

If you are still having difficulties or would like to report any errors, please reply to this thread.

Thank you!

they removed the database backup/file save capability some years back.  However if you want to get your data out to at least have a copy use a product like SnagIt.  If you set its capture type to 'advanced' 'custom scroll' you can then scroll the expanded transactions window at the bottom of PM for each stock/fund you have in each portfolio you are monitoring.  That will give you a single list of transactions for each security.  Hope this helps.

    Happy Holidays!

    Hi Adriana,

I there anyway to export all of our transaction records into a .cvs file? I literally have hundreds of entries going back to 1999. This would take an enormous amount of time to copy by hand and it would be prone to errors. Can you help?

Cant you just change the watchlist names in the retry import screen? Once you can access the new watch list again you can then delete the old ones and rename the new ones to the old names.

    Hi Adriana,

Thanks for your help. I'm getting an error message when trying to migrate my portfolio data to the new platform. On Friday (12-19-14) I was finally able to access the PM after  week of not being able to do so. I was able to make a backup of my positions using the Print Portfolio tab at the top, but that method does not provide transaction data (buys, sells, dividends, reinvestments, etc) (as others have pointed out) so I took the past two days to copy all that info down by hand. I was able to do so. Following the Migrating your Watchlist instructions (http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/3004532/en-us) I attempted to migrate my portfolio data over to the new platform today, and pleasantly found that unlike my previous attempts, all my portfolio data appeared as being eligible for transfer**. It seemed to start the migration process and then suddenly the following appeared:**

    Whoops!

We can't show you this right now. We'll get it fixed soon.

Attempts to refresh the page and try again do not work. The same error as above appears not only after after refreshing the page, but using a separate window to visit my Watchlist page at: http://www.msn.com/en-us/money/watchlist.

When I try to Retry the migration (http://www.msn.com/en-us/money/watchlist/migrationsupport)  I get the following error next to each portfolio I have checked to transfer over:

! Watchlist with this name already exists. Select a new name.

**I can't access the new platform at:**http://www.msn.com/en-us/money/watchlist in order to delete the watchlists with the same names from my previous migration attempt, because, as I mentioned previously, I keep getting the following error when trying to visit that page:

    Whoops!

Signing in and out and opening in different browsers doesn't seem to help. What am I supposed to do? Thank you.
