Learn more about the new features in MyWatchlist by clicking here: My Watchlist: FAQ

You may have recently imported data from the Classic MSN or my.msn.com  pages to the new MSN.com Money Watchlist/Portfolio and may not have received all of your Watchlist/Portfolio data. The MSN team has resolved the issue and you can now regain access to that information by following the steps below.

Note: These steps only apply if your Watchlist has already been imported and there is data missing. If you have not already imported a Watchlist, please go to the Watchlist, sign in, and you will then be prompted to begin the import. You may need to return to this step if you find that data is missing after your first attempt to import.

Step 1: Create a new Watchlist and delete any Watchlists from previous imports

Step 2: Re-import your existing Watchlist or Portfolio data from MSN.com or my.msn.com into a new Watchlist

Step 3: Clean any erroneous data imported into your new Watchlist(s).

If you need more details about the steps, please go to this article.

If you are still having difficulties or would like to report any errors, please reply to this thread.

Thank you!

    Thanks.!

In earlier portfolios, copy and paste were not available.  I found that ‘copy’ was easy to do using the FT Portfolio.

I opened a new Word Document (Microsoft again, but an old one).  I copied the overall total from the Dashboard to the document.

I opened each portfolio separately.  On each one I highlighted the part I wanted, from gain/loss to holding name, and copied to the Word Document. That all worked fine, with separate lines for each portfolio.  After market close, or tomorrow morning, I will add dividends, then make a new copy.

That will have all my end of year positions.

    ...

That process should work fine, until Microsoft decides to shut down access to Word! (grin)

    Floyd,

For FT.com, after you open a Portfolio to see its individual stocks, click the star next to the Portfolio name and that portfolio will be set as your default view.  Which means the next time you login to FT.com, that portfolio and its individual stocks will be the first thing you see when you login to FT.com.

If you decide later you prefer the dashboard as your default view, click the star next to Dashboard and it will once again be your default view when you login to FT.com.

I dont see a way to print all your stock holdings, but control and P pressed together works pretty well to print the stocks of an individual portfolio (if you dont mind small print).

    Good luck

    ...

(Maybe you could re-enter the FT email address using ‘at’ instead of @ sign)?

    ...

The e-mail address for Financial Times Customer Service is "help" (no quotation marks) at ft.com.

After using MSN Portfolio for 15 years, I discovered on Dec 8 that it was ending, and the arbitrary cut off of Dec 22 was pretty offensive.  That made an end of year report impossible.

The Portfolio was unavailable for 8 days, preventing many from making the ‘migration’.  Any who did not migrate before Dec 22 now cannot migrate, the data is gone.

I found that all my data did migrate on Dec 11, the day before I left the country for a while.  However, the Watchlist is not trustworthy, and is weirdly formatted.  Each Portfolio has to be viewed separately.  The MSN Watchlist seems to be the invention of some genius engineer who has no portfolio, does not know what is needed.

I entered the current balances to create a new Portfolio on Financial Times.  (Maybe you could re-enter the FT email address using ‘at’ instead of @ sign)?

Entering all the past history of reinvested dividends will not work for me.  The options to enter them as ‘Buy’ with zero price, or ‘Buy’ with price on the past date, either way will not calculate a correct period to date return.  Reinvestment of dividends includes a return in the calculation, while Buy does not.  Those reinvested dividends do not affect my tax calculations, I get that information from the 1099’s provided by the fund companies.

On the FT arrangement, all Portfolios can be seen using the Dashboard, with total value at the top.  But, Portfolios with more than 1 holding will not show the separate holdings.  That Portfolio must be opened and shown separately, still no way to print.

At 9am Central Time, the FT Portfolio shows dollar values.  To see the current share price, number of shares, and value of the separate holding, the Portfolio must be opened.

I want to see all holdings in one screen, a screen that can be printed for file.  Guess I was spoiled the past 15 years, got just what I wanted every month.

Now, January 1 will be a long day of manually making a report for my own purposes.

For all of you in the same boat, Happy New Year!!
