I went to Morningstar this morning with great expectations.  Instead I found a simplistic Portfolio Manager input table consisting of stock name, numer of shares, price, purchase date, and commission.  This can't possibly do the same things MSN Money did.  I thought on an earlier visit  I remembered seeing a long tome in Morningstar's minuscule type advising new Portfolio Manager users what to do and expect. I can't locate this tome again.

This change to the Portfolio Manager was certainly not done by anyone who is a user of that feature.   While I finally have migrated the data I am not able to manage it.  I was able to add and delete colums to view the contents as I wished this does not appear possible in the new configuration.  I went through the FAQ and it is far short of anyones idea of a comprehensive overview of the problems that need to be adressed.  I have spent three days reading and looking for solutions and with this much time invested I should be much further along.  As many people have said give me the old version back.  I have been using the Monday site via Google Chrome since the Silverlight quesions started to be an issue.  Can't MSN do anything right?  Would like to know how to print my list of funds and get it all to display and also would like to learn how to put the colums in an order of my choosing.

Thank you Morning Sleeper. You apparently actually read the questions in this thread and attempt to help. The link to re - import let me import my accounts. Of course the information is incorrect or missing and I have no idea how to fix it. Apparantly this is set up as a watchlist only that gives the daily change for stocks only and not for funds. It doesn't seem to even attempt to replace portfolio manager.  I have not seen anywhere that it shows the number of shares held, total amount of those shares, or any of the other information that portfolio manager has available. I googled to see if I could find any more info and found directions that indicated you could customize views like in the old portfolio manager but it says to go to the full page watch list which is a link to msn  which is just the main msn money page and doesn't help at all. Do you have any information on this? Is this actually as big a boondoggle as it seems? I now understand why people have been so anti Microsoft for so long. It just gets worse. Without portfolio manager I certainly have no reason to stay with MSN. Thanks again for your help. Now if someone could just help Microsoft.

EVERYBODY IN THE CHAIN.  THIS IS HOT INFORMATION.  WITH THE ADDRESS GIVEN YOU CAN AT LEAST RECOVER YOUR PORTFOLIO MANAGER UP TO THE PRESENT DATE.  PRINT OUT THE INFO AND RUSH IT OVER TO MORNINGSTAR OR YOUR OTHER FAVORITE NEW SITE.  AS YOU SEE, PORTFOLIO MANAGER HAS NOT BEEN DISCONTINUED YET.
