KB2919355 (Windows 8.1 Update) Fails (800f0092 and 80073712) on Windows 8.1 Pro w Media Center

As I understand it at this time (getting confirmation) the supplemental fix only to fix the issue with the interaction with WSUS and 8.1 after the install of KB2919355. 

For those people stick in a stuck phase, this little update won't help (as I understand it at this time)

Sad but true.

Noted small (2.6MB) apparently supplemental update to the original KB2919355, labeled important, in the update center this evening.  Ran the update via the update center on three machines which all completed successfully following a reboot.  Not sure of the full purpose of this update but attached info seemed to imply it was intended to fix and cleanup errors associated with the original update KB2919355 on 4/8.

At any rate, after running this new update, one Gateway desktop, one Sony VIAO laptop, and one new Surface Pro 2 are still working as intended with the features contained in the 4/8 KB2919355 update.

I am not sure if this is a fix for the original 355 one, since I

had already found a solution last Saturday and successfully installed

Win8.1U.

I'd be curious to know if this fixes anything for those who are still experiencing issues.

Apparently the supplemental update is a fix for the original 355 which failed.  After successfully installing it on my desktop. I tried the same approach on the Windows 8.1 tablet I have and the supplemental update installed on it and the features I acquired on desktop were present on the tablet without going through all the other fix for original update. One of the features is that on Taskbar and Navigation properties page there is a choice to show Windows apps on taskbar which was not there before the install of these updates.

Let me see if I understood correctly. You could not succeed to

install Win 8.1 Update on your tablet. Now with this fix it worked?

If so, did you run Windows Update again and were offered a single KB2919355 (including this fix) or two separate ones?

Sorry for the question, but I think this is important for all the

frustrated users here. I cannot try myself since I already have Win 8.1

I ran my WU and it appeared that the 355 was offered again but listed as published today.  I attempted to run it again but it still didn't work.

When I went to Win 8.1 tablet to attempt to reinstall 355 and checked for updates the supplemental update was there and I downloaded and installed it.   After restarting tablet noticed that the same features offered by 355 were there so assumed that the supplemental update was to replace 355.  I did not have to install 355 again. Funny but after I succeeded in installing 355 on Desktop I went back to tablet and looked in Update History and the 355 update which had shown 'failed'  said 'pending restart' like it synced with the install on the desktop....they are on home network. So I restarted and 355 was installed on tablet.
