black screen during calling with the lumia 930

I just received the lumia 930 a few days ago. Perfect device however every time I want to make a call the screen goes black. I had a lumia 920 without this problem. Is there a solution? (without blowing the dust, restoring to factory settings or bringing the device back to the store?). This is such a devastating problem as it is almost impossible to just answer the phone. A have no protective cover etc.

Final Update.

The shop replaced my Nokia 930 with a new one.

In the shop we found out that the screen in the sensor area was wobbly. LIkely that this was the defect that triggered the proximity sensor.

So, if you have issues with proximity sensor, there is one option only... go to service.

    Hi

    I've facing screen goes black during calling period with my Lumia 1020 every time in 1month ago without any reason several times did soft reset but issue couldn't resolved after installed phone update but issue is persist press the power button screen is disappears also tap loud speaker screen goes black

    I've apply new screen protector but difficulty going fix don't know how to resolve this issue I'm very disappointed.

    Screen goes blank during calling period outgoing and receiving calls I've just get this issue few days on my Lumia 1020 after several times soft reset the device but issue has couldn't resolve after update to install phone current operating system but I've getting black screen dial and receive calling period I'm very disappointed how to resolve this issue please help this issue else my device running well

    I've facing screen goes totally blank during calling period then power button tap several times but after loud speaker on but screen is black within 24 days on my Lumia 1020 several times soft reset the device after check install phone update but issue is persist I'm very disappointed microsoft mobile services.

    Current OS version - 8.10.14234.375

    Hardware revision version - 4.4.0.2

    So this is defenitly a hardware issue, received my lumia 930 yesterday and found it not reacting to double tap and going black on placing phone call.. reading through the comment here I decided to realy press hard with my fingers compressing the screen arrea arround the proximity sensor.. result.. double tapp working and no more black screen when placing call..

    So any reset is no solution.... Hardware replacement.. will be a kind of a gamble if I read through the comments.. The phone is perfect.. contemplainting to return it or keep it.. Still it is €400 peice of hardware

    I have a new LUMIA 930. I have just started using it and I am having exactly the same problem.

    I have no screen protector no case and no dust (unless it was factory applied).

    The problem has been in the phone since it was taken out of the box.

    The screen goes black immediately I make a call.  It makes the handset useless as a phone.

    I read your post and on inspection of my phone I noticed that at the top right corner the screen is very slightly elevated. As per your suggestion  I applied pressure on this area of the screen and amazingly it had the same result.

    The phone has started to operate correctly and the screen stays on during the call.

    This is obviously a systematic manufacturing fault, to do with the bonding of the screen onto the hand set.

    Really it is wholly unsatisfactory that an issue which is around as long as this has not been dealt with by Microsoft. 

    I wonder how long this this fix will last for, my fear is that the screen will lift again with use of the phone and the problem will be back.
