    • Yes. I can download and install other updates.  Just downloaded and installed updates for Security Essentials and Bing v1.3.1
    • Service Pack 1 is installed
    • Trouble Shooter run but the Windows Update attempt failed again at the Download stage after 11% downloaded
    • Ran msconfig and set up to do a clean Boot OK.  Attempted another update and this time after 11% download the download just hung and did not go any further than 11% without displaying a failure message.
    • At this stage coincidentally a Malware Bytes update downloaded and installed OK
    • Reset via msconfig for a normal start and Update failed as usual.
    • Attempted a manual download from the Miscrosoft site and went through the Genuine Software Validation process OK, but the Download displayed the message "Update for Windows 7 for X64 based systgems (KB2923545).   My system is a Desktop 32 bit system
    • The message "The update is not applicable to your computer" was then displayed.

Any further help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Chris
