Missing Network Settings - "Find Devices and Content"

Windows 8.1 -Under all my various network adapters there is no  "Find Devices and Content" box.

I've tried various fixes. Changing homegroup etc. Nothing work.

Please provide some guidance

I am not sure if everyone is checking at the right place if they are connected to domain network and they have 8.1 because only 8.1 has this option. Windows 8 has a different way to share devices and content.

I have been using Windows since forever and have used Apple too, so switching to Mac / Apple is not going to help. Its just another OS with the same fundamentals. Go figure it out in a Apple store if you want a demo.

    I also had this problem and it turns out to be the Hyer-V virtual switch. I had a virtual switch connected to the Wireless interface.

    I deleted the switch, deleted the wireless profile, reconnected to the wireless network and the setting "Find Devices and Content" was back.

    Microsoft should check this problem in Hyper-V. It forces the networks to be private. Very dangerous when connecting to public networks.

    Wireless network connections have been HORRENDOUS to deal with in Windows 8. I had found the steps for deleting and re-adding an existing network before. If I can find them again, I'll post a link.

    Following these steps, I get to the right screen that allows me to set a quota for the network connection, but the Find Devices item, which should be at the top of that screen, is missing.

    Can I delete the network completely and then re-add it? I can't seem to get it to give me that original option (do you want this to share etc) if I simply disconnect and reconnect from the same wireless access point.

    Is there something I'm missing in order to get that first option to appear on the screen?
