Missing Network Settings - "Find Devices and Content"

I solved the problem of not being able to change from a Public to a Private Network in Windows 8.1.

I had the same problem of a missing "Find Devices and Content".

I tried HomeGroup Troubleshooter. You cannot use a HomeGroup with a public network. It eventually asked me if I wanted to convert to a Private Network, and I said yes, and problem solved.

I am not sure if everyone is checking at the right place if they are connected to domain network and they have 8.1 because only 8.1 has this option. Windows 8 has a different way to share devices and content.

I have been using Windows since forever and have used Apple too, so switching to Mac / Apple is not going to help. Its just another OS with the same fundamentals. Go figure it out in a Apple store if you want a demo.

I have 8.1 and I do not have this option either. Following that same pathway, searching the computer, everything and NOW WHERE is there a place to turn on find devices!  WHen I still had 8, I also had bluetooth connections and could set up my printer, phone and all through the blue tooth, it upgraded and lost that ability and option to choose it , my printer and all are gone from the bluetooth!  It is insanity

The "Find devices and content" is NOT there, that's the whole problem here

In fact, though, this finding may help me understand some other problems with sharing that I have been having and attributing them all to Surface RT 2 design constraints.   TBD.

I also have the same problem.

Furthermore, I'm connected to a Domain, and the laptop is not getting an IP address from the DHCP server.  I had to enter one manually and now I can browse internet use email, etc.  but I'm unable to see other computers or shares in the network...
