How to disable top bar for closing apps in windows 8.1 update 1?

If they are only for the majority why give options for some elements they added but not others

In update one I can turn off apps on the taskbar, get rid of taskbar from the apps screens but yet I cannot get rid of a pointless top bar because some users cannot work out how to close apps (which you do not even need to close anyway, the OS will fully shut them down if needed)

but thanks for confirming my point, waste of time giving any feedback to MS about windows unless its what the majority want

yes there is more options now for apps when they run on the desktop, why not give an option of how they run, could provide feedback but what is the point, majority want them on the desktop so that is what will happen

but could you please enlighten me on how win 10 can work the same as 8.1 for those that want it, don't say configure it for the start screen instead of start menu as this does not do it

I don't expect you to see my point as you seem to just disagree with anyone that likes the win 8 series way of working

Explain what "Win8.1 way of working" you want that I haven't, already, tried to address or tell you is possible.

I know some people have voiced they want Live Tiles on the Desktop.

What is it you want?

Sorry for mentioning 10 again as this is not the forum for that, but all they need to do is allow people who liked 8 series to carry on working that way, for those that like 7 give them more of the desktop experience

It is early days for this so far, so I am hoping MS don't just listen to the majority and go for a desktop experience only, if they do then giving feedback is a waste of time

Live Tiles on desktop I have no problem with, just make it optional

Some people as this thread shows, like the uncluttered full screen look of how apps work, Is it really that hard to understand that people do not want a title bar on the apps

Is there some issue I am missing of why this cannot be done?

Sorry if I came across angry at you earlier, not intended, but MS annoy me when they constantly back track on things and ignore people who liked the new ideas they have/had

Not related to topic, but I came back to Windows from OS X purely because of Windows 8 and how it worked, watching this experience disappear is very annoying

yeah I want the exact same as u do. Windows 8.1, original version was my favorite OS ever and like u, it was because of live tiles and full screen apps. I also liked the integration of cloud support. Yay no more external download. I'm also very sorry to anyone I've offended. Just wish Microsoft would make that ugly bar optional.

My point, is that when I am watching a movie on Netflix or Hulu, I don't want or will I accept that ugly black bar at the top of my view. Thank God for Linux Mint!. Bottom Line- Make it optional, or I will remove it my way!
