Hello Shawn,
I have just updated to the new 8.1. I am also unhappy with having the title bar permanently appearing because I use a mouse. It was unfair to generalize that all mouse users wanted this moving forward. Now we want Microsoft to be aware that the complaining
will continue until this feature becomes optional.
This feature takes away the appearance of some modern apps. And saying basically if you have a mouse, you have no choice because mouse=mouse controls is infuriating. If the change took place because of the voice of the people, well, I have a voice as well
and ask Microsoft for an another update. That is the purpose of updates. So please pass this information to your superiors, and know it will continue.
Thank you
I would just ignore Keene's self-contradicting, ridiculous apologia for Microsoft. He argues on the one hand that mouse users should just use the Win 8 desktop rather than the Modern/Metro environment, and on the other hand that the new title bar is a helpful
concession to mouse users. If Microsoft released an update that required all Windows 8 users to dance in front of a Kinect in order to interact with the system, I'm sure he'd find some illogical way of justifying that as well, and harshly reprimand anyone
who had any misgivings about it whatsoever.
Despite Keene's for the company however, it is ultimately the majority of customers that Microsoft will listen to, so by all means, keep letting them know how you feel about this regressive new "feature" and encourage others who feel the same way to speak
up as well.
