How to disable top bar for closing apps in windows 8.1 update 1?

I am excited for Windows 10, I may finally get around to installing it on my desktop machine. I originally had many of the complaints others did about Windows 8, but 8.1 fixed most of those, and now that I have a Surface Pro 3, many of the design choices make waaay more sense. I'm glad they are making the full-screen start menu an option, because it's great on tablets.

The issue with the bar isn't that it doesn't disappear, it's more of how long it takes. Like, when you go to click on an edge element, you just flick your mouse to the screen edge, which causes the bar to appear, and then you need to wait for it to go away. When trying to quickly Google something or access a tab, this can be fairly frustrating, not a big deal, but it lessens the experience.

Regardless, Windows 10 is soon. and I'm thankful for your response.

The good news is that in a wee bit more than a month you won't have to endure any more of any of this as none of it exists in Windows 10.

True one can't please everyone all the Time. Changes were brought in 8.1 due to complaints and then others complained about those.

As for the bar you mention, if you leave the cursor sit in the window for a moment it disappears

I too find the exit bar extremely annoying, though only in certain circumstances. The main issue is that it makes the couple centimeters at the top of the screen practically useless for any mouse interactions, which conflicts with Metro Chrome's tab placement. I don't mind the menu in and of itself, it's the trigger that I find frustrating. It would be like if the charms menu appears just by touching the right side of the screen, instead of with a gesture, It would always get in the way. I know you guys at Microsoft have other things to do, but spending the time to polish every interaction is what made Apple so popular, and what Microsoft keeps struggling to keep up with. I love Windows in many ways, but polish REALLY is important, and I find this satisfaction with "good enough" solutions frustrating. Drew, I know that you can't make everybody happy, but that is a sort of strawman. I don't want you do solve every problem for every person, but you can still try to make as many people happy as possible, and an option would accomplish that, even if it was command line togglable only.

I remember! myself posting about how annoying is the title bar, using chrome as metro app is far better than using it in desktop mode (it happens with other products). With no solutions I´ve been trying to adapt but after 6 months I think is complicated that's not the way our windows experience should be, the title bar for the past 25 years belong to a different environment, you cannot compare desktop mode with metro, don't try such a nonsense, but you can ask yourself and try to answer. 

Why this is not a configurable option?, 

I read some posts I notice I'm not alone, this is not just a minority request and once and again no matter the words is always the same question, till this moment with no answer, Why this is not a configurable option? Why?

25 five years people was able to tweak the register in order to fit the OS to their necessities, minor changes because the Microsoft windows essence remains the same.

Ask yourself and tell us.
