Cant get flight mode turn off Nokia lumia 520

yesterday my phone time changed and flight mode turned on. when i try to turn it on, it keeps blinking and couldn't turn on. i have tried

-Reinsert SIM

-Factory reset

-Hard reset

but no joy

wifi still working , but cant get sim network to work.

any help would be appreciated

Try a new SIM card and if that won't work; contact your local Nokia Care center for a hands-on look.

To all Lumia owners,

I have Lumia 720, Lumia 830 and Lumia 930. Good to mention that the hardware is really really good if you have bought them in good condition (check out my other posts on this).

I have encountered the situation for Lumia 830 whereby I can't switch off the flight mode. Whenever I tried to turn it off, it will not change to off. I tried to create the shortcut to flight mode in quick action (top of the screen when you swipe down), it turned off but immediately turned back on (toggling between on and off rapidly).

However I believe some of the users here did not state the whole picture of the incident.

The honest happening of my phone:

I was charging my phone via the original Nokia charger plugged to the electrical outlet. I was taking my specs from the table which was position on the charger's wire. Not knowing it, I accidentally yanked on the wire and caused the phone to snapped off the charger wire and dropped hard onto the floor, opening up the detachable back cover with the battery out as well.

I put back everything and switched on. Everything was normal except the flight mode was on (airplane symbol on). Thinking that it is normal, I tried a restart. Same. Tried restart again. Same.

And I proceeded to google online and find out other methods, such as using another SIM card, plug back into the phone, soft and hard reset, but to no avail.

I brought it back to Microsoft Devices Care walk in centre (Singapore) and got it back within 3 days. Free as it is still under warranty. The only bad part is the camera button is slightly twisted. My guess is that the engineer has to pry open everything to fix a damaged module.

Summary: don't bother to DIY solve this issue with the online recovery tool and stuff. TOTAL WASTE OF TIME!!! Get it to the nearest care centre and let them fix it. My advice is that if you are nowhere near the service centre, try getting another brand of phone instead of Lumia. No choice!
