Hi,

This issue may occur if specific Windows Updates are not installed in the proper order. Microsoft has made a change to prevent further customers from getting into this state.  Customers must now have a pre-requisite update (KB 2883200) installed before being offered these updates.

To restore wireless connectivity:

1.     Uninstall all of the following updates:

·         KB 2887595 – Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2 update rollup: November 2013

·         KB 2903939 – Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2 update rollup: December 2013

To uninstall an update, go to the Control Panel and select Programs.  Then, under Programs and Features, select View installed updates.  Select the updates listed above and click Uninstall.  If you’re prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

2.     Install the updates listed below.  When you run Windows Update, the updates will now automatically be installed in the proper order.  You must restart the computer after you apply each update.

·        Install KB 2883200

·        Install KB 2887595 and KB 2903939.

I have updated to Windows 10. I have been unable to locate and uninstall the older updates. How do I locate or should I do some kind of reset or restore to the OS?

Just FYI, my DV8P's WIFI failed in May and I just now uninstalled the latest Windows 10 security update and after rebooting the wireless module worked again.

So it seems like even in Windows 10, updates can permanently prevent the WIFI module from starting.

That would be the firs thing on this forum that would make any sense with the issues I am having. I never had any of the updates that were apparently causing issues, I have done numerous resets on all parts of the tablet and continue to have issues connecting to WiFi, the Venue 11 pro that I have either connects  perfectly or doesn't acknowledge that it even can connect to any network and will give me no wireless options when accessed from any menu. I'm doing some updates now, but as those, and resetting my tablet completely multiple times now has never worked I am certainly skeptical. Please let me know if you figure your issue out, I'm hoping for a similar resolution.
